GozaShirahamaBeach (ShimaCity)
Gozashirahama Beach is a shallow beach with no big waves, so even children can enjoy it safely. It is a historic sea that has been certified as one of the ``100 Best Bathing Beaches'' by the Ministry of the Environment.
Iwas so moved by the fact that there is a sea in Mie that looks just like Okinawa.
Fugamaru-chan's outstanding clarity and shining emerald green appearance are breathtakingly beautiful! I love the sea so much that I have been going there every year since I was little.
A beach with a beautiful sunset
You can watch the sun setting on the horizon. During the swimming season, there are beach houses with bungalows and cottages, so we recommend spending two days and one night enjoying the sea to the fullest. *There is a beach house that is open until the end of September.
A new stylish glamping facility opens

Azurihama (ShimaCity)
Azurihama (Azurihama) is a shallow sandy beach that is popular for swimming in the summer. It's not too crowded even during the open sea season, making it a hidden beach spot.

There is Godzilla in the sea! ?
Sparrow Island, an uninhabited island that looks like Godzilla, is located in the center of the beach, and from December to January you can see the sunset.
Chamu:``There's a monster!'' It made me smile to see a child so excited. If you look at Suzushima from the parking lot, it looks more like Godzilla.
A famous starry sky spot where you can see the Milky Way!

A swimming beach near the world heritage site "Onigajo". Easy access, 5 minutes walk from the nearest Odomari Station, and 1 minute drive from Odomari IC.

Asoura Bridge is a bridge that connects tashikaraura and Asoura in MinamiiseTown.
The view of the ocean from Fugamaru-chanko bridge is the most beautiful! Truly shocking clarity!
Even when viewed from Chamu Bridge, the ocean floor is completely visible and the transparency is amazing! Why not try crossing this bridge on your ocean drive?

Shichirimihama Beach is approximately 22 km long, stretching from KumanoCity to KihoTown. It has been certified as one of Japan's 100 best beaches, and is also known as the longest gravel beach in Japan.
Fugamaru-chanThis photo was taken from the gazebo at Matsumoto Pass on the Kumano Kodo. It is a scenic point where you can see the entire coastline.

ShichiriMihamaBeach is not a sandy beach, but a gravel beach full of pebbles. There are many fallen stones that have been cut into circles by the rough waves.
Fugamaru-chanko stone is a natural monument called Mihama Koishi. The moment the waves recede, you can hear the soothing sound of "Sa~sa~Sari Shari~Sa~".

Delicious soft serve ice cream at Michi-no-eki Hana-no-Iwaya!
There is no dedicated parking lot on ShichiriMihamaBeach, so the nearest parking lot is Hanano Iwaya Michi-no-eki Hana-no-Iwaya
When you come here, you must try the Niihime soft serve ice cream! It is topped with a generous amount of sweet and sour jelly made with Niihime, a citrus fruit that can only be grown in Kumano.
It's also a milk soft serve made with Fugamaru-ouchiyama milk, so it's a product made in collaboration with Mie Prefecture's specialty products! You can only buy it here, so please give it a try.
The ChamuNiihime drink is also recommended. The sweet and sour taste makes you feel refreshed as if the summer heat is blown away!
*What is ouchiyama Milk? Milk produced in Mie Prefecture and sold at almost any supermarket or convenience store in Mie Prefecture. It is characterized by its rich milk and pleasant drinking experience.

Tategasaki (KumanoCity)
Tategasaki Park is a special protected area of Yoshino-Kumano National Park, with a promenade leading from the mountains to the seaside.
If you walk for a few minutes from the parking lot of Fugamaru-Tategasaki Park, you will see the sea sparkling in emerald green.
The torii gate of Akoshi Shrine and the beautiful sea
Akoshi Shrine is a 10-minute walk from the Tategasaki parking lot, and you can see the ocean from the torii gate.

The impressive large quay “Tategasaki”
If you walk for 40 minutes from Akoshi Shrine, you will come to a rocky area called Senjojiki. If you look out to sea from there, you will see the large quay called Tategasaki.
It is said that Fugamaru-chanwas named Tategasaki because it looks like a shield standing in the sea. In the morning, the sun is behind Tategasaki, so the front side is in shadow and appears dark. This photo was taken at 2:00 pm during the daylight hours.

Blue Cave (KumanoCity)
The Blue Cave in KumanoCity is a hidden gem that can be reached by boat. You can go there by using Tategasaki sightseeing tour run by KumanoCity Tourism Organization.
Chamu: There is a place in Kumano City KumanoCity that is like a blue cave overseas. There is no doubt that you will be surprised by the shocking blue color.
Fugamaru-chanis a shared boat, so it's a good deal if you have a lot of people. In my case, there were 7 people on board, so it cost 3000 yen per person.
Admire Onigajo and Tategasaki from the sea
Tategasaki sightseeing tour is a 70-minute sightseeing course that allows you to see not only the Blue Cave, but also Onigajo, a world heritage site, and the large quay of Tategasaki from the sea.
Fugamaru-chanI was so moved to be able to see world heritage sites! The view from the sea was different from the view from land.
Tategasaki seen from the sea is beautiful
It takes about 50 minutes on foot from Tategasaki, which was introduced on the first page of Cham, but you can easily see it by boat.
Huge large quay “Umikongo”
“Umikongo” is bigger than the large quay of Tategasaki and is very impressive! This is the place to visit on the last spurt of your Tategasaki sightseeing tour. There is no doubt that you will be overwhelmed by its size.

Masaki Island (ShimaCity)
Masakijima is an island floating in Ago Bay on the Rias coast. Pearl farming is popular, and the island has the feel of a good old fishing village.
Fugamaru-chanThe clear blue coast is beautiful and moving! It felt like an isolated tropical island.
The only means of transportation is by boat
Because it is a remote island, the only means of transportation is by boat. If you use the Ago Bay liner, you can arrive at Masaki Island in 10 minutes one way. Go on a sea kayak experience at Shima Nature School
Shima Nature School is a facility that offers sea activities experiences. After enjoying a one-hour sea kayaking experience from Jiro Rokuro Beach in ShimaCity, we landed on Masaki Island.
Fugamaru-chanIt was a lot of fun to cruise around the beautiful blue sea in a sea kayak. The kayak was stable, so I was able to enjoy taking pictures without falling into the sea.
A pirate ship is coming to the island! ?
Fugamaru-chanThere are times when large ships, like those in a certain pirate anime, come very close to the island. It was an exotic sight.
