In the center of the observatory is an octagonal compass, which is rare nationwide.
A circular compass is placed on top, and the compass is engraved with directions according to the four directions and the twelve signs of the zodiac. It was created during the Edo period to predict the weather at sea.
There is also a monument commemorating the time when Japan's first wireless telephone was used at Kamishima, Toshi, and Hiyoriyama.
You can take a walk through the green grove, and the view of Toba Bay from here is also wonderful.

*One of the Toba Happy Bells, the Happy Bell, has been removed due to the risk of collapse.

You can view and edit the sightseeing route (My Plan on My Page) that will take you around the selected spots.
