Tamiyaji Temple
Tamiyaji Temple

This temple is said to have been built by the Arakida clan, who served as the priest of Naiku, to offer sutras to Amaterasu Omikami. In the past, the site of Tamiya-dera Shrine was where the main hall of Tamiya-dera was located, and the ``Komifunashiro'' of Amaterasu Omikami was placed here.
The principal image of the eleven-faced Kanzeon Bodhisattva, an important national cultural property, will be unveiled in February and August.
