Introducing autumn festivals and events held throughout Mie Prefecture that you should visit at least once.

Lots of information on everything from popular festivals that are crowded with people every year, such as TsuCity City's Tsu Festival and MatsusakaCity 's Ujisato Festival, to traditional local festivals!

As the weather gets cooler, it's the perfect season to go out, so come and experience the unique local festivals held throughout Mie Prefecture!

Ujisato Festival (MatsusakaCity)

Ujisato Festival

The annual ``Musha Parade'' centered around Lord Gamo Ujisato begins with a marching ceremony at the National Historic Site of Matsuzaka Castle and continues to GojobanYashiki and samurai residences in the former Doshin Town. The large procession of 200 people, including samurai in armor, Ujisato's wife Fuyuhime, and a gun squad, is very impressive. It is crowded with many onlookers.

2023 Tokai/Hokuriku B-1 Grand Prix in Yokkaichi (YokkaichiCity)

"2023 Tokai/Hokuriku B-1 Grand Prix in Yokkaichi" will be held around Mitaki Street YokkaichiCity. A total of 20 organizations will gather in YokkaichiCity, including 15 organizations from the Tokai and Hokuriku areas and 5 organizations that have won the Gold Grand Prix in the past. The B-1 Grand Prix is not a gourmet event, but a community revitalization event. Along with providing gourmet food to everyone, we also communicate the charms of each region.
Also, as the name of the Grand Prix suggests, the ranking will be determined by voting on the disposable chopsticks eaten. I would appreciate it if you could cast your vote.

Niiname Festival [IseJingu] (IseCity)

When the Niiname Festival is held at the Jinka-den in the Imperial Palace, an imperial envoy is sent and a heihaku is offered to him.
At the shrine, the Amaterasu-Omikami no-gi is held to offer sacred food to Amaterasu Omikami and other deities, followed by the Hohei-no-gi where the Imperial envoy presents the emperor's heihaku. Niinamatsuri will continue to be held at all shrines and shrines until November 29th.

36th Tokaido Sekijuku Kaido Festival (KameyamaCity)

Ueno Tenjin Festival (IgaCity)

Autumn Iseraku City (IseCity)

The event will be held around the square in front of Geku bus stop, about a 10-minute walk from the ticket gate of JR/ IseCity Station. isshinden Tajinai Town Festival (TsuCity)

isshinden dates back to the Muromachi period, about 640 years ago, when a temple of the Shinshu Takada sect was built. Autumn Kagura Festival [IseJingu Grand Shrine Naiku] (IseCity)

This event is held to express gratitude to the gods and to pray for the peace of the people, and includes Bugaku (traditional Japanese dance and music) and Shinen no Shinburi events. On the first day of the festival, Mikagura will be performed at Geku at 8:30 a.m. and Naiku at 10:00 a.m. in the respective kagura halls, and at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., bugaku will be performed on a special stage in the Naiku shrine garden. During this period, there will also be dedication ceremonies by famous families of various schools from all over Japan, such as Maiyayashi, Noh, and Nodate (outdoor tea-ceremony table). However, in case of rain, public performances will be held only at 11:00 a.m. on the Sanguden stage.

Meotoiwa(rocksofthemarriedcouple) Oshimenawari ritual (IseCity)

The Oshimenawa of Meotoiwa(rocksofthemarriedcouple) is replaced three times a year.
Meotoiwa(rocksofthemarriedcouple) serves as a torii gate to worship the Okitama Shinseki (a sacred stone located about 700 meters offshore from Meotoiwa(rocksofthemarriedcouple)) Futamiokitama-JinjaShirine which is connected to Sarutahiko Okami, the deity enshrined at Futami Okitama Shrine, and the God of the Sun.
Each large Shimenawa rope weighs 40 kg, is 10 cm thick, and is 35 m long, making a total of 5 ropes. While a lively Mokuori song plays, the large shimenawa rope that has been purified is strung to Meotoiwa(rocksofthemarriedcouple) by the parishioners.

Yokkaichi Festival (YokkaichiCity)

Hananoiwaya-jinjaShrine Autumn Festival (KumanoCity)

Hana-no-Iwaya is an ancient relic of worship of natural objects, with a 45-meter-tall gigantic rock as the object of worship. Arima Village in Kumano, where Izanami no Mikoto was buried, as described in the Nihon Shoki, is the name of this Hana-no-Iwaya, and the spring and autumn festival ``Tsuna-kake Shinji'' is a prefecture's intangible folk cultural property.

52nd Monk Festival (Komono Town, KomonoTown)

nago Whale Boat Event (SuzukaCity)
