Kannon-ji Temple of the Koyasan Shingon sect is affectionately known as "Silt Koyasu Kannon."
The principal image is the ``White-robed Kanzeon,'' which is said to have appeared from the sea of Lake Tsuzumigaura on the back of a baby.
Visitors come from all over the country to pray for the miraculous effects of safe childbirth, child rearing, and childbirth. Fudanzakura is a nationally designated natural monument.
