A park with a great view overlooking Toba Bay

Shiroyama is a hill with an altitude of 40m. This is the site of the Toba Castle ruins, and has a plaza and promenade as Shiroyama Park.
It offers a panoramic view of Toba Bay, and is a popular spot for cherry blossom viewing in the spring, bustling with many visitors.
The Heart TOBA monument is also recommended as a photo spot.

■What is Toba Castle Ruins?
Yoshitaka Kuki built the castle in 1594 (Bunroku 3), and after that it became the headquarters of the Kuki Navy.
It has an unusual shape in Japan, with the Otemon Gate protruding toward the sea, and the Otehado Sluice Gate served as the entrance and exit. Parts of the stone wall, filled with stones brought in from the nearby sea and river, still remain at the Aibashi and Honmaru ruins.
