Individuals are also welcome! What is overnight parking?

"MORIMORI PARK Iga" is a car parking lot that opened in November 2022.

I was surprised that it is not a campsite or a guesthouse, but a parking lot where you can sleep in your car, and that when it first opened, it was a ``single person only'' policy (currently it is not limited to one person only), but the owner... When I learned that she was a woman, I was even more surprised, and on the other hand, I became very interested.

Owner Mr. Morimoto

This is a place where owner Morimoto-san's ideals took shape!

Mr. Morimoto himself said, ``I didn't want to go camping, but I just wanted to relax in my car while going out, put a table next to my car and drink coffee, and sleep in my car, but this is a place where I can do that. "There weren't many!", so he created MORIMORI PARK Iga from scratch.

It's true that you can't set up a table next to your car at Michi-no-eki or park parking lot, and you might feel reluctant to go to a campsite if you don't have camping supplies.

Furthermore, Morimoto says, ``At a campground, I didn't have the courage to go alone when there were families and couples having fun around me.'' Solo camping has become a boom these days, but it still takes courage for a woman to go camping alone. Based on Mr. Morimoto's own experience, he created a unique parking lot for overnight stays that is ``only for one person''.

When it opened, there were many requests for couples to use it, and since April of this year it has been registered as an "RV park", so it can be used by families, couples, and groups of friends instead of "only for one person." became.

What is an RV park?

For those who don't know about RV parks, an "RV park" is a paid parking lot promoted and authorized by the Japan RV Association to provide "a place where you can sleep comfortably and safely in your car." Regarding spaces, they are being installed at various facilities across the country, including hot springs, inns, Michi-no-eki, and amusement parks.

Specifically, a parking lot is a place where you can sleep comfortably and safely in your car, with a toilet that can be used 24 hours a day, a 100V power source, and nearby bathing facilities. There are many places where you cannot set up a table next to your car, so you are basically expected to spend your time inside your car.

You can also pitch tarps and tents! You can also make a bonfire!

However, this "MORIMORI PARK Iga" has pegs that can be driven into the ground, so you can set up tents and tarps, and you can also make a bonfire, so it is used by a lot of campers! (*Open fires are prohibited, so please use the fire pit.)

I have used many RV parks in the past, and I think most RV parks are used as a means of lodging during car trips, but this "MORIMORI PARK Iga" can be a destination for your trip. It's a very attractive spot where you can sleep in your car with many repeat visitors!

Plants that let you feel the seasons! Also lit up at night

The grounds are planted with seasonal trees, and are lit up at night to create a magical atmosphere. It's bliss to spend time relaxing and watching the bonfire!

Facility introduction

Now, let's introduce the facilities of "MORIMORI PARK Iga".

Main store

The store that handles reception and other functions also serves as a cafe, where you can enjoy crepes, drinks, and late-night snacks. Of course, you can also use the cafe only, so please feel free to stop by.

You can eat the cafe menu at a table inside the store, or on days when the weather is nice, it's nice to eat in the beautiful garden!

They wanted people to relax in the garden, so they created crepes that you can hold and eat with your hands!

Crepes are also a menu that will tickle the hearts of people who like camping and sleeping in cars.

If you like sweet things, we recommend the chocolate banana crepe with toasted marshmallows! Personally, I like the outdoor spiced chicken crepes that you can choose from.

parking space

"MORIMORI PARK Iga" has a total of 6 sections for sleeping in the car.

The parking lot is larger than a regular parking lot, so you can enjoy a bonfire or set up a tent within the site.

There is also a power supply (separately 550 yen) at sites ① to ⑤. Site ① is also a pet site, so you can enjoy sleeping in the car with your dog. Site ⑥ has a small space, so it seems to be for emergencies or for customers using motorcycles.

You can reserve your desired site using numbers 1 to 6. By the way, the most popular site seems to be the trapezoid-shaped site number 5!

apart

There is also an ``annex'' at the back of the main store, which has a toilet that can be used 24 hours a day and a sink with hot water.

There is also a restroom in the main store, and when there are many guests, men and women use the restroom separately.

rental space

This "annex" has a hearth, making it a very relaxing space, and can also be used as a rental space during the day.

Apparently, the only time to light a fire in the hearth is when MORIMORI PARK Iga is reserved for private use or when using the rental space.

When I heated up the Gohei mochi that I bought at the nearby Michi-no-eki Aya, it turned out to be super steamy and delicious!

From beginners to veterans

``MORIMORI PARK Iga'' has many repeat campers and people who enjoy car trips, but it is also a recommended spot for those who want to make their debut sleeping in a car or those who want to try solo camping.

We hold an event called ``MORIMORI-kai'' once a month so that such people can easily participate. Beginners and veterans welcome! This is an opportunity to exchange information about sleeping in your car and camping, so if you're interested, please check it out!
