Introducing the exquisite gourmet food you can eat at the restaurants at Michi-no-eki Station! We will also introduce the staff's recommended gourmet food that was discovered through undercover interviews. *Price includes tax and is the price at the time of article publication.

Tea udon set 850 yen

This is a set menu of udon noodles made with deep steamed sencha, a specialty of this region.

In addition to shrimp tempura and kakiage, the side dishes come with several types of small bowls, and it's a luxurious set that also comes with rice balls!

FugamaruOcha Udon is a specialty udon at Michi-no-eki Station. You can order a single item for 600 yen.

The green udonnoodles caught my eye! The noodles were chewy and had an elegant taste with the aroma of tea ♫

Chilled tea udon set 850 yen (summer only)

Here is a menu where you can eat the tea udon that I introduced earlier with zaru udon. The green udon noodles stand out.

Chamuis an exquisite gourmet dish that can only be eaten during the summer! It had more elasticity than warm udon noodles, and it was very filling ♫

Cutlet curry 750 yen (staff recommended)

When I asked the staff at Michi-no-eki Station about their recommended menu, they told me, ``Actually, the cutlet curry is really delicious.''

The taste is interesting...The cutlet is crispy and juicy! It went perfectly with the rich curry.

Although the Fugamarucutlet curry is reasonably priced at 750 yen, I'm happy that it also comes with salad and rakkyo. The volume was perfect and I was full.

Souvenir corner

Many deep-steamed green teas produced in this area are displayed in the souvenir corner. Iinan-cho MatsusakaCity, where Michi-no-eki Chakura Station is located, is famous for producing deep-steamed sencha.

What is deep steamed sencha?

Tea leaves are steamed for about twice as long as regular sencha, and are characterized by a ``mellow, sweet taste'' with less astringency and bitterness.

ChamuIf this is your first time enjoying tea with tea leaves, we recommend deep steamed sencha! It has little bitterness, so it's very easy to drink.

If you want to know more about deep steamed sencha (Matsusaka tea), please see the article below. Masashi Asada, a photographer from Mie Prefecture, interviews us about the charm of Matsusaka tea!

The souvenir corner also has a farm-fresh vegetable corner, selling freshly harvested vegetables.

The vegetables lined up are filled with the passion of young farmers who want to revitalize their local area, and farmers who find their purpose in life in connecting with customers through exhibiting here.

In addition, goods and foods unique to this area are on sale, including ``Iinan T-shirts'' made in collaboration with Iinan High School, a corner for handmade side dishes and bento boxes, and a corner for special products from Matsusaka.

Spectacular view point

From here, we will introduce the scenic spots around Michi-no-eki Roadside Station and the surrounding area! The views from the outdoor observatory, the second floor of the station building, and the beautiful azaleas are all breathtaking views.

① View from the cafe space

The cafe space on the second floor of the station building is a spectacular view point overlooking the great outdoors!

You can enjoy the spectacular view while relaxing in a stylish space filled with the warmth of wood. You can order the cafe menu from the ticket vending machine on the first floor. *Meal menus cannot be brought in.

You can also go outside to the terrace, and here is the view from there ↓

You can overlook the beautiful clear stream of Kushida River and the great nature of Iinan-cho MatsusakaCity.

It was September, so the scenery was full of fresh greenery. In the fall, the leaves turn red, and in the spring, there are rows of cherry blossom trees along the river.

The row of cherry blossom trees alongthe Chamu River will be introduced later in the article.

② Observation deck

There is an observation deck outside the station building that offers a panoramic view of Iinan-cho MatsusakaCity, and you can reach it by climbing the stairs near the station building for a few minutes.

This is the observation deck. There is a sign that says ``Chakura'' and you can see the entire town through the fence.

Here is the view from here ↓

A large suspension bridge can be seen below, and you can enjoy a broader view of the town than from the terrace on the second floor of the station building.

There are stairs near the observation deck that lead down to the suspension bridge, and the views along the way are spectacular.

The river is so clear that you can even see the fish swimming on the riverbed.

Crossing the suspension bridge provides access to Riverside Chagura, which has camping and barbecue facilities.

Information about Riverside Chakura is explained in detail in the article below.

③ Azalea wall

Every year around Golden Week, beautiful azaleas bloom around the station building.

The best time to see azaleas is around the beginning of May, and in 2021 they reached their peak on May 2nd.

*The above photo was taken on May 2, 2021 at 12:45.

Azaleas bloom along the roads, but the sidewalks are narrow so you need to be careful of cars.

If you want to take your time and admire the azaleas, we recommend the stairs near the station building.

Chamu2021 had the highest volume of flowers in recent years. I hope we can see beautiful azaleas again in 2022...

④ Cherry blossoms and Kushida River

In spring, you can see cherry blossoms around the station building. The recommended scenic spot is the stairs introduced in ③.

Here are the photos taken on April 5, 2020↓

From the stairs, you can admire the Somei Yoshino cherry trees blooming along the river. Wild cherry blossoms are blooming here and there on the hills along the road.

FugamarukoStairs is my favorite cherry blossom viewing spot. You can enjoy a beautiful view of cherry blossoms and azaleas from a high vantage point.
