After crossing Oni Pass, the travelers headed from Higashio okase to Nishio okase. When you come to the front of okase while looking at the clear stream of Miyagawa River on your left, you will see a large stone Jizo statue, 1.5m tall, facing south along the road.
It is one of the largest Jizo statues in the town, and its body is embossed in thick relief, giving it a somewhat majestic feel.
If you look closely, you can see the inscription "1688". It has been in this position for over 300 years, watching over the safety of people passing by.
