Seki Jizo-in Temple is closely related to Zen Master Ikkyu and is famous for the folk song, ``Put a long-sleeved kimono on the Jizo of Seki and take him as the bridegroom of the Great Buddha of Nara.''
It is said to have been founded by Gyoki Bodhisattva in the 13th year of Tenpyo (741), and has attracted the faith of not only local people but also people traveling Tokaido, and is still crowded with many worshipers today.
In addition, the main hall, bell tower, and Aizenmichi (main hall) within the precincts have been designated as important cultural properties (buildings) of the country.
