kawage Enkoji Temple
Great location for autumn leaves spot
If you go about 300 meters from Honshiroyama Youth Park, you will find Enkoji Temple, a quiet and quaint mountain temple. Said to have been founded in 1358 (early Muromachi period), this historic temple of the Tofukuji school of the Rinzai sect is surrounded by old trees and has a solemn atmosphere. Especially during the autumn foliage season, the sight of the autumn leaves towering over the Sanmon gate changing color all at once is truly a sight to behold.
