All you can eat ripe blueberries! A new blueberry garden will open at Akatsuka Botanical Garden ♪

掲載日:2021.06.11

A new blueberry garden will open on June 12th (Saturday) at TsuCity Botanical Garden in Tsu City, Mie Prefecture.
Approximately 1,000 blueberry plants of over 30 varieties are grown in the approximately 6,000 square meter farm, and you can enjoy all-you-can-eat for 70 minutes!
This time, we received special permission and was able to interview the park before it opened, so we would like to introduce its charm, and also check out other interesting information such as (1) opening period, (2) admission fee, (3) infectious disease prevention measures, and (4) access. Shin♪

I came to the newly opened blueberry garden at Akatsuka Botanical Garden!

This time, a cheerful boy and his mom try their hand at blueberry picking for the first time♪

As soon as you step inside, there are pots, pots, pots as far as the eye can see!
These are all pots in which blueberries are grown.

In the spacious garden of approximately 6,000 square meters, there are approximately 1,000 blueberry plants of over 30 varieties.

I'd like to say, "Let's eat it right away!", but first, let's start with the preparation.

Some blueberries are clustered together, and you may come into contact with other blueberries when picking them, so be careful to prevent infections! Wear gloves, pick them, and eat them from your seat.

On the day of our interview (June 9), about nine varieties (*) of the "highbush" blueberries, which are large and have a pleasant texture, were ready to eat.
In July, the medium-grained and sweet "Rabbit Eye" varieties will be harvested, so be sure to try out the different varieties!

(*) 9 varieties → Jewel, Windsor, TH-605, Gupton, Summit, Valmet, Sharp Blue, Windsor, Dapplin

I can't wait to finish picking the whole container! A boy chews blueberries with such deliciousness.
When I asked her, "Which one is delicious?", she cheerfully answered, "They're all delicious!"

(Each variety had a completely different flavor, ranging from sweet to sour to deep. It might be irresistible for those who like to compare foods!)

Even though you can eat as much as you want, you want to choose as many delicious fruits as possible.
Is there a good way to tell the difference?

According to the staff, ``If the stem turns red all the way to the fruit, it's a sign that it's fully ripe!''

When I tried comparing the red ones and the non-red ones, there was a clear difference in sweetness!
Please choose your favorite sweetness♪

A boy who was trying for the second time said, "Thank you!" and showed us a very big fruit. If you put them side by side, can you see the difference?

According to a staff member, ``Some of them are about 500 yen in size, so if you find one, you're super lucky!'' It's like a four-leaf clover and I'm so excited♪

We are currently offering some great specials to celebrate our opening.
Oh my God! Each visitor can take home one pack of blueberries! (*)

``I'll take this as a souvenir for my dad!'' said the kind boy. I'm sure dad will be very happy too♪

*Excludes infants under 4 years of age, who are admitted free of charge.

In addition, "Blueberry Vinegar (*1)" is also on sale as an Akatsuka original product!
This blueberry vinegar is rich in the healthy ingredient GABA, making it a perfect souvenir.

You can use it not only with water or soda, but also with milk, or in various dishes (*2)♪

(*1)Currently available at a special opening price of 1,620 yen (tax included) per bottle.
(*2) Great for simmering meat or carpaccio sauce etc.

What did you think of Akatsuka Botanical Garden's Bree Berry Garden, which will open from June 12th?
Utilizing Akatsuka's unique FFC technology, all of the blueberries grown with good water are exquisite, and there are many varieties, so it's a good place to compare them ◎ Please take this opportunity to enjoy them ♪
