What is Komono Fuji?

Komono Fuji is a mountain located in KomonoTown with an altitude of 369 meters. It was named Komono Fuji because its shape resembles Mt. Fuji.

It is a mountain that is easy to climb for everyone from children to the elderly, and it is a mountain that is loved by the locals!

Torii road route (about 30 minutes)

There are two climbing routes to Komono Fuji.

First, I would like to introduce the "Torii Road Route". If you are climbing from the Torii-michi route, please park your car at the Torii-michi parking lot. It is possible to park about 7 cars! There is also a toilet.

There is a signboard in the parking lot that lists the climbing route and nearby facilities, so be sure to check it before you start climbing!

If you head towards the river that flows next to the parking lot, you will find the trailhead!

The climbing route is easy to follow as there are signboards placed here and there, but unexpected situations can occur during climbing.
Be sure to check the climbing route in advance and prepare for the climb.

The Torii Road route takes about 15 to 30 minutes to walk on such a flat road. Let's walk and enjoy nature to the fullest, something you don't get to experience in your daily life!

There are almost no steep climbs and descents, so even small children can climb it.

We have arrived at the mountaintop! There is an open space at the top of the mountain, so it's a good place to take a break.

There is also a large table set up at the top of the mountain, so sit around the table with your climbing friends and enjoy your meal! It is crowded with many climbers on Saturdays and Sundays at noon.

A large cairn is also installed. A cairn is a stone piled up by hand.

It is said that they are placed along mountain trails to serve as signposts and memorials for the spirits of the dead.

This is the view from the top. From the top, you can see not only the cityscape of KomonoTown, but also the buildings around Nagoya Station and Ise Bay on clear days.

It's great that you can climb a mountain in such a short amount of time and still get to see such amazing views.

One of the joys of mountain climbing is enjoying a meal while admiring the spectacular views. There's nothing like looking at the spectacular view while drinking hot coffee!

You can climb Komono Fuji in a short amount of time, so even if you bring hot water from home, it won't get cold!

Looking in the opposite direction, you can see mountains rising over 1,000 meters above sea level.

You can also see Mt.Gozaisho (altitude 1,212m) and Mt. Kamagatake (1,160m)! The summit of Komono Fuji offers a spectacular 360-degree view.

This is a photo taken at sunrise.

Komono Fuji is also a recommended spot to watch the sunrise. When climbing early in the morning, you will be walking through a dark forest, so be careful.
Let's try the challenge after climbing in the afternoon and checking the route! If you are climbing early in the morning, be sure to prepare lights.

The sun rising over Ise Bay is a mesmerizing beauty.

This is the summit of Komono Fuji during snowfall!

The atmosphere changes drastically depending on the season. The snow-covered townscape has a beauty that is different from other seasons.

Climbing during snowy conditions is extremely dangerous, so be sure to prepare your equipment carefully before attempting the challenge.

Even in the lower mountains, there can be quite a bit of snow depending on the day. Be sure to check the mountain weather in advance.

Komono Fuji parking lot route (about 15 minutes)

Next, I will introduce the "Komono Fuji Parking Lot Route".

It is located approximately 300m down from the Torii Road parking lot. This parking lot is large enough to accommodate approximately 60 cars and 3 buses.
You can climb the Komono Fuji parking lot route in about 15 minutes from the trailhead!

This route is also easy to follow as there are signboards set up here and there.

The parking lot route has many steep climbs compared to the Torii Road route, and it is a route that will easily drain your physical strength, so be sure to climb slowly at your own pace!

Climb with caution as there are some slippery areas. If you bring your own poles, you can climb more safely.

We also have a stylish signboard like this! (lol)

What did you think?

It is a mountain that even beginners can enjoy, so if you come to KomonoTown, please come and visit Komono Fuji!

There are hot spring facilities such as Kiboso and Aquaignis nearby, so it's a good idea to soothe your tiredness in a hot spring on your way home.

I have posted a video of Komono Fuji on YouTube, so please use it as a reference for climbing.
