saikuu, a Japanese heritage site located in Meiwa Town, Taki District MeiwaTown Prefecture
This time, we will introduce the charm of cosmos blooming at historic sites and saikuu ruins, where you can enjoy watching the trains run by!

◆Article creation: Hanachiro
A father of a naughty daughter and a selfish son who lives in IseCity.
There tends to be an increase in photos of children looking like idiots (lol), but do they look energetic, fun, and cute? We are active with this motto!
After actually going out with my family, I'm sharing the charms of Mie that I highly recommend.

What is saikuu ruins?

saikuu is located in MeiwaTown, located between IseCity and MatsusakaCity, and is the town where the palace of ``Saio'', who served Amaterasu Omikami at IseJingu Grand Shrine on behalf of the Emperor, was located.
The ruins of saikuu, which is said to be a phantom palace, currently not only houses facilities such as SaikuHistoricalMuseum and the Saiku Heian Shrine, but is also a famous flower spot where you can enjoy the four seasons.

Taking pictures of cosmos along with a train passing through historic sites and saikuu ruins is full of charm that other cosmos fields don't have! !

Best time to see/access

saikuu 's cosmos is
Mid-October to early November
The best time to see them will be.

The cosmos field is located on the north side of Kintetsu saikuu Station.
From “ItsukinomiyaHallforHistorical” to “Saiku Heian Shrine”
It spreads around the area.

There are multiple fields where cosmos can be planted, but the fields change depending on the year.
You can enjoy flowers in different compositions every season.

There is a free parking lot within saikuu ruins, and saikuu Station is also nearby, making it easy to access!

Cosmos unique to saikuu

●Cosmos at Saiku Heian Shrine

Although this cosmos is not a flower garden that blooms all over, you can enjoy the colors of autumn along with the restored ancient architecture of the Heian period.

The Kintetsu train runs right next to saikuu ruins, so it's very popular to take pictures of cosmos with the train.

There was a cosmos field right next to the train tracks, so I also tried taking panning shots of the train.

My son who was with me was more excited about the train than the flowers (lol)

Cosmos field at dusk

When I changed the time of day and went to saikuu ruins at dusk, I saw a beautiful autumn scene with a different atmosphere than during the day.

Personally, I highly recommend the cosmos fields in the evening!

If you take a photo with the background blurred, the cosmos field illuminated by the setting sun will instantly look magical!
The petals of cosmos are so thin that even in backlight, the sun's rays can shine through them, making them sparkle.

Even though the child was just standing on the aisle, the photo made it look like he was buried in the flowers and the light of the setting sun.

It's easy to take photos that look great, so when I can't decide, I always take photos from this angle (lol)

When taking pictures of children or pets, lowering the camera to the subject's eye level will result in cute pictures with lots of cosmos in the background and out of focus.

My son always tends to touch stones on the ground, but there were cosmos blooming at the same height as my son, so I was able to take a picture of him being very interested in the flowers.

Take a close-up photo of flowers

On a sunny day, you can see bees flying into the flowers in the flower garden.

My little models are wary of bees and don't approach them, so I asked bees to model them for me (lol)

Even against the blue sky, the beautiful pink color stood out.
Time flies when you look at flowers from various perspectives (lol)

The location of saikuu 's cosmos fields changes depending on the year, so this year my family will be looking for a different view than last year!

This concludes the introduction to the cosmos field at saikuu ruins.

This spot is famous for not only the cosmos in autumn, but also the colorful flowers that bloom depending on the season, making it a highly recommended spot that can be enjoyed all year round.
