The Shimagahara district of Iga City is located on the border between Kyoto Prefecture and IgaCity. There, nature remains unchanged since ancient times. Shimagahara Onsen Yabutcha is a facility where you can enjoy the mineral-rich hot springs hidden in this area.
This is a hot spring facility located in a natural landscape surrounded by mountains.

Here you can forget about the hustle and bustle of everyday life and have a relaxing time!

A hot spring building where you can enjoy "Yabutcha no Yu".

"Yabutcha" is a word that means "everyone (family, friends, etc.)" in the Shimagahara dialect, and it has the meaning of "I want as many people as possible to enjoy it."

After receiving a pamphlet about the facility at the spacious front desk, we headed to the hot springs.

There are two types of bathhouses, ``Kamenose'' and ``Taigase,'' and the bathhouses for men and women alternate daily.

Let’s start with the public bath!
As the name suggests, ``Sasube-no-Yu'', you will want to soak in the hot water with the hope of having smooth and smooth skin!
The quality of the spring water is a bit slimy, and I feel like my skin has become really beautiful.

Next is Kotto-no-Yu, a 100% natural hot spring bath.

The source temperature is 36.7 degrees, which is close to body temperature, so you can enjoy the hot water slowly.
It feels so good that you can forget about your daily stress!

Finally, we came to the observation open-air bath “Tsukimachi no Yu”!

You can feel the nature of Shimagahara firsthand and hear the murmur of the Kizugawa River flowing nearby. I had a happy time feeling surrounded by the magnificent scenery.

There is also a ``foam bath'' (only in Taigase) that has a massage effect using bubbles, a lying bath, and a sauna, so you can enjoy the hot springs in a variety of ways.

Look for souvenirs at the ``store'' right after leaving the hot springs.

We have a wide selection of local specialties such as Iga liquor, famous sweets, and crafts.

What I'm looking for is, after all, "original products."

"Yabutcha Original Bath Salts" (1,200 yen/tax included) allow you to recreate "Kotto no Yu" at home.
Get a souvenir you'll want for yourself!

``Free Rest Area Ippukuya'' is a place where customers can relax after taking a bath.

It is a space where you can stretch your legs and relax.

The specialty of this rest area is ``Hasamezu Soft'' (260 yen/tax included, 300 yen/tax included with corn), which is made with the local specialty ``Hasamezu soy sauce.''

It tastes like caramel and is delicious!

I would like to have lunch at the restaurant ``Satoyama Cuisine Dondo''. This is a restaurant that serves healthy menus using ingredients grown in Satoyama.

We ordered the popular ``Satoyama Countryside Small Bowls Assortment of 12'' (1,270 yen/tax included), which is only available 20 times a day.

I was able to taste local cuisine little by little, such as stews and pickles made with local mushrooms and vegetables, and it felt like a great deal.
*Ends as soon as it runs out.

Let's leave the hot spring building and explore the charm of the facilities on the premises!
So, I decided to stop by Norajiman, a local farm direct sales store.

The store is lined with fresh vegetables grown by over 100 local farmers.
Not only is the quality good, but the affordable price is also good.

There are other popular items here besides vegetables!
``Mugwort Mochi'' (380 yen/tax included for a pack of 3 pieces) is made with plenty of mugwort from Iga.

It's great to be able to enjoy freshly made mochi made with love by our female staff at the workshop next to the direct sales shop!

When freshly made, it has a distinct mugwort flavor and is extremely delicious!

The campground along the river is also one of Yabutcha's best selling points.
The day-use campsite, which has no divisions, is known as a spot where you can enjoy a barbecue.

In addition, the ``auto campsite'' is also popular, with ``Site A'' (14 sites) equipped with a kitchen, toilet, power supply, and outdoor furnace, and ``Site B'' (17 sites) that can be used for day trips at a reasonable price. )there is.

It is so popular that it is fully booked during the main season from summer to fall.

In the spring, cherry blossoms bloom in abundance around the campsite.

Usually, the best time to see them is around early April. It is said that there are many customers who use camping during this season.
As shown in this photo, you can also get the best shot of the cherry blossoms from a distance!

Don't miss the ``golf course'' where you can play while enjoying the great outdoors with nothing in the way!

It can be used for both "putting golf" and "ground golf" and can be enjoyed by everyone from children to the elderly. Interesting course that takes advantage of the natural slope!
This time, I visited the Shimagahara district of IgaCity for the first time. We were able to enjoy hot springs, meals, shopping, and outdoor sports while being surrounded by the good old Japanese countryside scenery.

``Shimagahara Onsen Yabutcha'' is a perfect spot for a family outing, as there are many ways to enjoy the place.
Once you visit Yabutcha and the Shimagahara area, you will fall in love with their charm!
