Introducing a model itinerary for a one-night, two-day work stay that traverses Mie Prefecture's two proud national parks, Ise-Shima and Yoshino-Kumano. Pay attention to the nature and culture of Iseji, where people once made pilgrimages, and enjoy the activities and delicious food unique to this area!

What is Ise-Shima National Park and Yoshino-Kumano National Park?

Ise-Shima National Park is one of Japan's leading marine national parks, with a distinctive ria coastline. The complex coastline, dotted with small coves and headlands, is not only a fishing ground for abundant seafood. The calm waves make it ideal for kayaking, canoeing, and other sea activities.

It's also great to have fun learning about how local people have lived in the midst of nature, such as the ama culture and pearl farming.

Yoshino-Kumano National Park is a land with strong ties to history and nature, and the area is mentioned in books such as the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki. Since the Heian period, many people have visited this place as a sacred place.

In the morning, the sight of the deep green mountains covered with the morning mist is breathtakingly beautiful. The reason why the faith took root in this area may have something to do with this mysterious nature. This is what makes me think of the unchanging nature.

Explanation of the areas covered in this course

Our next destination, Tenku Café Terrace (Yokoyama Observation Deck), is a scenic spot where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the various large and small islands floating in Ago Bay. Once you climb up to the observation deck, you will see the beautiful scenery of Mie's proud rias coastline spread out in front of you, and the overwhelming view will soothe your soul.

Lunch time at “Saka no Ue”, a space full of greenery and an extraordinary feeling ♪

After finishing work, have lunch at Saka no Ue, which is quietly located on a small hill in ShimaCity. The cute exterior that looks like something out of a picture book and the location surrounded by a forest give it an extraordinary atmosphere.

From the many lunch menus, this time we ordered the ``Shima Sea Fried'' (contents vary depending on the season), which are gorgeously arranged with local seafood and vegetables, and the ``Matcha Shaved Ice.''

Before the meal, we had herbal tea called butterfly pea and enjoyed the Instagram-worthy plate♪ The shaved ice, which looked like a planet wrapped in cotton cloth, was the best on a hot summer day!

Enjoy a workday while feeling connected to the local nature and people at the tangible cultural property “Share Space Doi Mise”!

This facility is a coworking and shared office that utilizes the Japanese-style modernist building "Mise Doi Family Residence," which was built in 1930 and designed by Kihachiro Ando, and is also registered as a tangible cultural property.

The location is excellent as it is located in OwaseCity, which is blessed with the natural beauty of the sea and mountains.

Additionally, the facility's occasional community lounge provides a place for guests to connect with local residents.

Not only can you learn about the hidden gems that only Owase people know about, but you can also make new connections and find a job in Owase.

I spent a fulfilling time at work and my stomach is flat.

Of course, the freshness is outstanding! The thickly sliced meat allows you to enjoy the flavor of the ingredients to your heart's content, and is sure to impress.

The soup that comes with the set is called ``Fisherman's soup'', and the broth is made from the bones of the fish caught that day, making it an excellent dish that allows you to enjoy a different flavor every day. The rich seafood soup stock has an exceptional taste, and is completely different from the miso soup that you often eat.

Spend a quiet moment at Atasica Days, a private accommodation facility.

With our bellies full from the delicious seafood, we checked in to our accommodation for the day, “Atasika Days” (Atashika-cho, atashikacho KumanoCity!

Delight in seafood bowls and soft-serve ice cream made with ingredients from Kumano at Onigajo Center!

For lunch, enjoy seafood bowl at Onigajo Center. I ordered the popular menu item ``Kumanonada red sea bream and tuna red and white bowl'' from the restaurant ``Ristorante Marina'' on the second floor.

The sea bream and tuna are caught in the Kumano Sea that stretches out in front of your eyes, and the green onions that add bright color to the bowl are also from Kumano. This is a masterpiece made with carefully selected ingredients from Mie Prefecture.

Niihime soft serve ice cream is recommended for dessert after your meal!

Niihime is a new type of citrus fruit discovered in Kumano, and is characterized by its sweet and sour taste. Be sure to try this soft serve ice cream with a refreshing aftertaste, with rich vanilla and just the right amount of sourness!

The large quay of Onigajo is impressive! Get excited about the natural beauty that has been recognized as a World Heritage Site.

After enjoying lunch, take a walk around Onigajo, a world heritage site. Onigajo is a sea cave carved out by the rough waves of the Kumano Sea, and the large quay that approaches you is a sight to behold!

This place has been registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the "Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes of the Kii Mountain Range," and tourists from all over the world come to enjoy this natural beauty.

Onigajo itself is quite a sight to see, but the beautiful blue Kumano Sea seen from Onigajo is alsoa spectacular view.

You can see the waves up close, and on windy days you may even get splashed by the waves! I was able to feel the magnificent energy of nature.

It takes about 30 minutes to walk from the east exit, which is right near Onigajo Center, to the west exit, where you can get off to ShichiriMihamaBeach. You might feel like an explorer by entering a cave or walking down the stairs on the edge of a cliff!

* There are sturdy fences along the way, so you can pass with peace of mind.

On the way back, collect information at the Kumano Kodo Center. Let's plan your next trip!

Since I wasn't able to walkthe Kumano Kodo this time, I would like to learn about the Kumano Kodo at the "Kumano Kodo Center" in OwaseCity in preparation for the next time.

Inside the museum,
there are exhibits that allow you to learn about the Kumano Kodo and the surrounding area, nature, history and culture, andexperiential learning, cultural courses, and lectures that take advantage of the area's nature are held regularly.

In fact, this facility is made entirely from solid Owase hinoki wood, which is certified as a Japanese agricultural heritage site, and the
space overflowing with the warmth of wood is extremely comfortable.

There is also a seating area, so you can spread out your computer and do light work such as checking emails.

While touring the exhibition
, I learned that OwaseCity has Magose-togePass, which is relatively easy to walk on the Kumano Kodo, so I added it to my list of places I want to visit next time!

If you have time in your schedule, we recommend staying one more night in OwaseCity and experiencing the charm of Kumano Kodo♪

At the end of your trip, relax in the deep ocean water bath at Yumekodo Owase♪

Right next to the Kumano Kodo Center is Yumekodo Owase, where you can enjoy bathing in deep ocean water.

The open-air bath has a slightly hotter acidic bath (in the front of the photo) and a slightly lukewarm alkaline bath (in the back of the photo), and it is said that bathing in the order of acidic and then alkaline will improve your skin's beauty even more!

You can also see Owase Bay and the mountains of Kumano from the open-air bath, so please relax while looking at the beautiful scenery.

After being soothed by the deep ocean water hot springs, we purchased Mie's representative local milk, `` ouchiyama Milk.'' The milk has a very refreshing aftertaste, so it's perfect for after a bath

Relax as time passes slowly while swinging in a hammock in the lobby where the pleasant scent of Owase cypress wafts through the air. Let's head home once we're completely exhausted.
