The ``watari'' at tanao Shrine is called ``kotatsuki togyo,'' and it is said to have been passed down from the image of the god of Kashima (the original enshrined deity of tanao Shrine) crossing by boat, and is unique in Iga. It's distinctive. This is an autumn festival that has been passed down at tanao Shrine since ancient times.The main attraction is the Togyo Ceremony, which consists of a lion kagura performance, followed by kotatsu, sumo flags, a procession of shrine parishioners, danjiri, and horse trotters, which are paraded 3 times back to the lodge 100 meters away. Masu.
Including boat-shaped danjiri, which are said to be very rare especially in mountainous areas, kotatsuki (two bamboos (15 shaku and 10 shaku) tied in a cross shape and tied with one white cotton (2 tan) to form a sail shape. ) and horse galloping are said to be rare festivals in Iga, and many people come to watch them every year.
