I went on a trip to enjoy the local gourmet food of Tsu while enjoying famous spots in Tsu such as Yuki Shrine, which is famous for its gorgeous weeping plum blossoms, daimon Shopping Street where the Doll Festival is being held, and isshinden Tajinai Town. (February 2010)

I visited Yuki Shrine, which is famous for its gorgeous weeping plum blossoms, to get a feel for spring.
The grounds are a popular spot where you can see about 300 weeping plum trees collected and planted from all over the country, as well as 80 plum trees of 10 different types in full bloom. The plum festival has started again this year. Although only half of the flowers had bloomed, the scent of plum blossoms filled the air and we were able to enjoy spring to the fullest.
It depends on the weather, but the best time to see them is around early March, and you can enjoy them until around mid-March.

By the way, the sweets were TsuCity 's famous confections with a seasonal feel. Matcha + Japanese sweets set (charged)

After Yuki Shrine, we stopped at Tsunagisamachi, the gateway to the sea, where there is a high-speed boat terminal that connects with TsuNagisamachi Centrair International Airport.
With a terrace that gives you a tropical feel, an observation space with a 360-degree view of Ise Bay and the town of Tsu, and a cafe and restaurant where you can enjoy meals while looking out at the ocean, this is a stylish place to relax and enjoy the sea breeze.

After relaxing, I went to Oshiro Park, located in the center of TsuCity.
This is the ruins of Tsu Castle, and after it was built in 1580 by Oda Nobunaga's younger brother, Nobuakiro, the castle was later renovated by the famous warlord TakatoraTodo, who ran through the Sengoku period, and flourished as a castle town of 320,000 koku until the Meiji Restoration. Parts of the Honmaru, Nishinomaru, and inner moat remain.
It is also the place associated with Ehime in the 2011 NHK Taiga drama "Go", and is likely to be in the spotlight in the future.

It was around noon and I was getting hungry, so I went to Senju, the restaurant where Tenmusu originated.
It's a small shop with only a counter inside, but there were many customers ordering takeout, and the staff was busy making Tenmusu.
The saltiness was perfect and the shrimp were plump and delicious.
5 pieces of tempura + miso soup 800 yen

I stopped by the nearby daimon shopping street.
The shopping district is holding the "Tsu daimon Dolls" event until March 3rd. Each store's proud dolls are lined up, including the store's wife's dolls, dolls that have been passed down from generation to generation, and handmade dolls. At the headquarters venue, you can enjoy an exhibition of creative dolls and a hands-on experience of making dolls. Masu.
The inside of the arcade was filled with Hina dolls and was very colorful.

Beyond daimon shopping street is Tsu Kannon, one of Japan's three Kannons, along with Asakusa and Osu Kannon. Kannon, with its bright red main hall and five-storied pagoda, is a place of relaxation for citizens.
There is also a museum holding cultural assets from the Kamakura period to the Edo period, which is quite worth seeing.

daimon is also home to Honeyman Honpo, a shop that sells Hachimitsu-Man, a classic Hachimitsu-Man that has been loved by locals for a long time.
A hemispherical manju wrapped in strained bean paste with a fluffy skin that has been kneaded with plenty of honey. Great souvenirs, but the freshly baked ones were the best!

After leaving the center of TsuCity, we headed to isshinden in the northern part of the city.
This is a temple town that developed around SENJUJIHeadTempleoftheShinshuTakadaSchool, and is still lined with branch temples and merchant houses, and where you can see many cultural assets and historic townscapes, making it a perfect place for a stroll.

Honzan Senshuji of the Shinshu Takada school is affectionately known as Takada Honzan.
It is a temple that directly inherits the teachings of Shinran, the founder of the sect, and has many temples built within its spacious grounds.Among them, Mieido, which is the largest important cultural property, was renovated in 2007 after major repairs in the Heisei era. Repairs were completed on December 20th. It was magnificent as it is one of the largest temples in Mie Prefecture.
From May 13th to May 17th, a grand puja will be held to commemorate the completion of the Mieido Hall, and it will be crowded with many people from inside and outside the prefecture.
