After graduating from university, he took over the family business and worked at a rice cake shop, but he never forgot the joy of studying microorganisms, which he majored in during his university days, and in 1997 he founded Ise Kadoya Beer and began producing and selling craft beer.

In addition, he is a person with a passionate desire to achieve world-class quality, and has himself qualified as a judge for international beer competitions, and has even transferred to a doctoral program at a graduate school to research beer. !

2. Ise Kadoya Beer factory tour!

① First, try the world-recognized beer “Ise Kadoya Beer Pale Ale”!

And before touring the factory...

First, we sampled a beer that has been recognized around the world.

“This is the world-recognized beer! It’s Ise Kadoya Beer Pale Ale!”


Pale Ale has won three gold medals in a row at the British Beer Judging Competition, which is said to be the Oscar of the beer world. This is the only beer in Japan that has achieved this feat!


"It's refreshing, crisp, and has a gorgeous aroma and bitterness! It's delicious!"

President Suzuki: ``We want to make beer that is world-class, make our customers happy, and send cheer into everyone's lives!''

② Go to “malt room”

From the second floor of the factory, you can see the rows of tanks lined up from above.

It seems that each tank can store 4,000L of beer, but some tanks can hold up to 12,000L!

It is calculated to hold approximately 36,363 bottles of Ise Kadoya Beer Pale Ale (330ml bottle)!

Next, we were guided to the malt room located at the back of the factory.

President Suzuki: ``The raw materials for beer are malt, hops, water, and yeast, but malt is the one we use the most.''

It seems that 800 kg of malt is crushed to brew 4,000 liters of beer.

President Suzuki: ``We select and collect the best ingredients for beer from all over the world.The quality of the raw materials differs depending on the year, and we are always gathering a variety of information to ensure we have the best ingredients.''

Also, the fat content changes depending on the malt content, so they are always thinking of new combinations!

President Suzuki: ``I can see how well the seeds have germinated, so I sometimes bite into them to check the quality.


“Hmm, it smells like bread.The more you chew, the sweeter it gets, so I think you can drink beer with this as a snack!”

③Hime White, a beer made from wild yeast from Ise

In fact, the president says that he has always wanted to make beer using local ingredients from Ise.

Therefore, this beer, ``Hime White,'' is made using wild yeast that the company president personally collected in the forest near `` Yamatohime-no-miya Himemiya'', Betsugu of Ise Grand IseJingu (Naiku).


This time, we had a special opportunity to sample freshly made Hime White directly from the tank!


``It's different from the pale ale I was talking about earlier, and it has a citrus-like aroma.It has a fruity aroma that hits your nose.''

President Suzuki: "That's right. We use yuzu peel and coriander to give it a unique taste. Some of it contains ingredients similar to the Japanese sake ginjo, so it goes well with Japanese food."

President Suzuki: ``We had been considering producing canned beer in-house for quite some time, but in order to make high-quality canned beer, we needed to purchase a large and efficient canning machine, so we were unable to make it happen. Even after we were able to purchase a high-spec machine made in Italy, we would normally have the machine adjusted by skilled Italian engineers, but this was not possible due to the coronavirus pandemic, so we connected online. After overcoming difficulties such as completing the adjustments ourselves, we were finally able to sell canned beer produced in-house!”


President Suzuki: "We have been making beer for the past 25 years with the slogan 'From Ise to the World.' Through this beer, we would like to convey Ise to people around the world."
