This time we will introduce the area between Seki and Komono in Mie Prefecture.
In the area surrounding Suzuka Quasi-National Park, enjoy both a town walk where you can feel the good old history and culture and a nature walk♪ Recommended for those who like leisurely travel and walking!

What is Suzuka Quasi-National Park?

The Suzuka Mountains that tower over the western part of the park are geologically different, with the northern part being a karst topography formed by erosion of limestone, and the southeastern part being granite, so you can enjoy a variety of activities in addition to the varied landscape.
The mountains called the Suzuka Seven Mountains within the mountain range are popular spots for trekking and climbing, and in winter, the area transforms into a silver world due to the abundant snowfall. Furthermore, the mountains give rise to many mountain streams, and there are many campgrounds located along these streams.

Also, don't miss Yunoyama Onsen, which has a history of 1300 years. The hot spring, also known as ``Deer Bath'' because of the legend that deer healed their wounds, is a famous hot spring perfect for relieving daily fatigue and stress.
It is an area with convenient transportation and rich nature, so it is recommended for a short weekend trip.

Explanation of the areas covered in this course

Travel back in time to the Edo period! Stroll around Sekijuku, which has an old-fashioned townscape.

This trip started from "Sekijuku" in KameyamaCity.

Sekijuku is the 47th post town on the 53 stations of Tokaido, counting from Edo, and is said to have been bustling with people coming and going during Sankin Kotai and Ise pilgrimages.

The townscape is still largely preserved today, and has been selected as an ``Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings'' and ``Japan's Top 100 Roads.''

From Choukantei, which faces the street, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the townscape of Sekijuku.

The sight of old-fashioned townhouses lined up in rows is spectacular! You can see a wide area to the left and right, so you can take beautiful photos!

You might be able to take a photo that will make you feel as if you have traveled back in time to the Edo period!

As I was strolling through the townscape, a shop that caught my attention was the food workshop "Cercle."

The exterior of the building blends in with the historic townscape of Sekijuku, but it is actually a Western restaurant that prides itself on dishes made with American beef, and the menu includes a luxurious lineup of dishes such as roast beef, hamburgers, and fillet steak bowls. I am. After your meal, you can enjoy homemade desserts that change weekly, and you're sure to have a satisfying lunch time!

After walking around for about an hour, it was time to take a short break. Sekijuku ofadjacent to parking lot "Koman no Yu" is a footbath that can be used free of charge.

The hot springs, also known as ``hot springs,'' have a salt concentration that is about 70% that of seawater, making them highly effective at keeping you warm, making them perfect for soothing tired feet. My feet felt warm and my whole body felt warm!

Hiking along the Tokai Nature Trail with the plants and wind♪

After enjoying the historic townscape of Sekijuku, we will walk along the Tokai Nature Trail!

The Tokai Nature Trail is a long-distance nature trail with a total length of 1,697.2km that connects 11 prefectures and national parks, and was selected for encountering beautiful nature and historical cultural properties. There are also courses within Mie Prefecture that pass through Suzuka Quasi-National Park and Murou Akame-Aoyama Quasi-National Park.

This time, let's take a walk along Anrakumichi, which runs from Sekisui Gorge to Tsuchiyama in Shiga♪

kachiji "Sekisuikei" located in Suzuka Quasi-National Park is a beautiful valley where a clear stream runs through white granite.

The clear emerald green water is also very beautiful!

In fact, it is said that Toyotomi Hideyoshi once took this route.

While feeling the warm sunlight on such a road, I simply step out along with the plants and wind that are there.

It may seem ordinary, but it felt like a special time.

Enjoy a relaxing moment at Sekisui Valley Campsite, surrounded by greenery and rivers!

After enjoying Tokaido Nature Trail, our next stop was Sekisuikei Campsite.

As the name suggests, this campsite allows you to experience the Sekisui Valley up close, and you can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities from spring to fall, including camping, BBQ, and playing in the river.

*Facility usage period: April 1st to October 31st

This campsite has 10 tent villages and 6 bungalows, and this time we stayed in the bungalows!

The rooms have tatami flooring, so you can relax and unwind. When you open the window, you can hear the soothing sound of the Anraku River flowing nearby. Time passes gently in the quiet forest, relaxing your mind and body.

Get a good rest and enjoy tomorrow to the fullest!

I woke up to the sound of nature and had a wonderful morning!

Right next to the bungalow, there is a space where even children can safely play in the water, and when you put your hands on it, it feels cool and very pleasant♪

I was able to fully refresh myself in the morning at Sekisuikei Campsite, which has a spacious feel.

Open the road to good luck at Tsubaki Grand Shrine, the main shrine of Sarutahiko TsubakiGrandShrine ♪

After checking out the campsite, we headed to TsubakiGrandShrine in SuzukaCity.

This is the main shrine of Sarutahiko Okami, known as the god of good fortune, and is a famous shrine visited by worshipers from all over the country.
It is said that many people pray for traffic safety, good health, and prosperous business, as it is believed that they will be guided in a good direction. It is also popular as a matchmaking shrine, and a traditional wedding ceremony called ``Tsubaki-kon'' is also held here.
First, go to the main shrine.

Next, pray to the god of entertainment at Betsugu Tsubakigishi Shrine.

Tsubakigishi Shrine enshrines Ameno Uzume no Mikoto, the wife deity of Sarutahiko Okami. Amenoden-me-no-Mikoto is worshiped as the god of advancement in the entertainment industry, marital harmony, and marriage, and many celebrities come to worship here.

I have been praying for your continued support and for your continued success in the future!

The ``Tea House Suzushoan'' located within the spacious grounds is also a highlight.

It's very nice to have a tea room inside a shrine. In fact, Konosuke Matsushita, known as the god of management, donated this tea room along with the garden to pray for the development of the tea ceremony. The tea is made in the sacred waters of the Myojin River that flows behind the grounds, and you can take a breather with delicious tea and snacks.

You can enjoy a relaxing moment in a calm space where you can feel the warmth of the trees.

As you walk through the grounds filled with greenery, the clear air will purify your soul.

Kanae Falls is a very popular power spot, and as its name suggests, it is a waterfall that can make your wishes come true, and it is said that if you use it as your mobile phone's wallpaper, it will improve your luck in love!

Another power spot is the "Blessing Ball".
It is said that if you pray while stroking this ball and chanting three times, ``Pay me, purify me, cleanse me,'' three times, you will bring happiness into your heart and your wishes will come true.

``Mizusawa Momiji Valley'' where you can enjoy the beautiful autumn leaves and tea fields that color the entire area

After recharging your energy, head to Mizusawa Momiji Valley, one of Japan's most famous spots for viewing autumn leaves.

In the Momiji Valley, which is covered with about 300 trees, you can enjoy fresh greenery in early summer and autumn leaves in autumn, and at night, the light of lamps creates a magical space. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see it yet when I visited, but when the season comes, you can enjoy the spectacular view of the valley floor covered in colorful maples and maples!

In addition, it is said that the waka poem, ``When you hear the voice of the deer singing in the mountains in the depths of the mountains,'' which was selected as one of the 100 poems, was written in this area.

As you leave Momiji Valley and walk further, a vast tea field spreads out in front of you.

In fact, Mie Prefecture is the third largest tea producer in Japan. Mizusawa suizawacho is also famous as a production area, and the production of `` kabusetea'' is said to be No. 1 in Japan! kabusetea is full-bodied, sweet, and has a low bitterness, making it perfect as a souvenir.

By the way, you can see YokkaichiCity and Ise Bay from here, so it's the perfect place to enjoy the wonderful scenery!

At "Japanese Yam Chacha", enjoy exquisite dishes made from wild yam grown in the rich natural surroundings♪

I was hungry after walking so much, so it was time for lunch!

I came to ``Japanese Yam Chacha'' in KomonoTown, a popular restaurant where you can enjoy healthy Japanese yam dishes that have been a focus since its establishment.

This is the Japanese yam that we actually use in our store. Very impressive and surprising! Some of them are over 1 meter long!

Japanese yam is a wild type of yam, and is different from Naga yam and Yamato yam. It is rich in nutrients and is said to be effective in recovering from fatigue and boosting immunity. Inside the store, you can also watch the staff stirring the Japanese yam in a large mortar.

This time, I ordered "Tororo Gozen Take".

In addition to the famous ``Tororo Meshi'', this luxurious set includes fried yam and Japanese yam soba. Pour the barley rice from the ohitsu and top with plenty of the yam soup. Add green onions and seaweed as condiments on top and it's done!

The soft stickiness and smooth texture are unique to wild yam. The combination of grated yam and barley rice is excellent, and you won't be able to stop eating your chopsticks because of its deliciousness.

The fried tororo, which was chewy on the outside and melty on the inside, and the soba noodles with the flavor of wild yam were also exquisite, and I enjoyed them to the last bite.

“Shikan fittings crafts” where you can experience the beautiful traditional culture of Japan

Although I wasn't able to stop by this time, I would like to introduce you to some traditional crafts and souvenirs unique to this area.

Sakan Tategu Kougei, a shop specializing in fittings in KomonoTown, produces fittings made using a technique called ``Kumiko'' that does not use nails at all.

Creating beautiful patterns by hand is truly a work of craftsmanship. There are also experiences where you can try your hand at making coasters and trivets, so be sure to leave your memories of your trip in shape.

The retro and cute packaging is a landmark! "Yunohana senbei round can"

This rice cracker, ``Yunohana Senbei Maru Can,'' also sold at ``Yunoyama Onsen'' in KomonoTown, is very popular because of its retro and cute packaging!

Yunohana Senbei, which has been made without additives since the company's founding, is a traditional carbonated rice cracker that is crunchy, light, and has a gentle sweetness that will make you addicted. The can has pictures of GozaishoRopeway and Oishi Bridge, which are related to Yunoyama Onsen, and the cute design will tickle your girlish heart!
