According to the information board at the shrine, it is said to have been enshrined in 724, and there are 116 Noh masks, Noh costumes (prefectural cultural properties), and a Noh stage (prefectural cultural property) from the Momoyama period to around the middle of the Edo period.
There are also three kounogi in the temple grounds: Ryuto no Matsu, Aioi no Matsu, and Renrinoki. It is said that the ship's deck was made of pine, and then 1,000 cedars were planted on this mountain.
This is called Kuki's Senbonsugi, and it is said that the Ichirosugi that remains in the precincts today is one of them. It is also a shrine associated with the Kuki clan.
At the spring festival held every April, traditional performing arts such as Kyogen and Shimai are performed under the cherry blossoms, and the area is crowded with locals.
