TobaAquarium (TobaCity)

MikimotoPearlIsland (TobaCity)

MikimotoPearlIsland, a lush green island in Toba Bay, is the island where KokichiMikimoto succeeded in cultivating pearls for the first time in the world in 1893. The island was opened in 1951, and since then we have welcomed many visitors from Japan and abroad.

The approximately 7,000 tsubo island is dotted with the Pearl Museum, where you can learn everything about pearls, KokichiMikimoto Memorial Museum, which introduces the life of KokichiMikimoto, known as the King of Pearls, and the Pearl Plaza (shops and restaurants). You can watch diving demonstrations performed by Ama divers wearing traditional white isogi.

Toba Bay Tour and Dolphin Island (TobaCity)

Toba Bay Tour is a sightseeing course that stops at Dolphin Island, Pearl Island, and in front of the aquarium. You can freely enter Dolphin Island, which is surrounded by the ocean 360 degrees and is rich in nature. Inside the park, you can enjoy dolphin and sea lion shows and petting the dolphins. There is also an observation deck and promenade where you can enjoy the exhilarating sea view.

The Post in the sky (Ise-Shima Skyline) (IseCity)

Ise Shima Skyline Asakumacho Observation Deck has a nostalgic mailbox, which is called the `` The Post in the sky''.

TobaObservatory Amano-terrace (TobaCity)

The snack shop "Haneyasume" at TobaObservatory has been renovated and will reopen as "Amano-terrace" on December 29, 2022!
There is a cafe and souvenir shop inside the store, which has a modern Japanese and calm atmosphere, and there is terrace seating outside.
The cafe is located in a location where you can see the Toba sea from both inside and outside, and the menu offers sandwiches, frappes, and parfaits made with ingredients from Ise-Shima.
Sandwiches can be ordered during lunch time from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The shop sells standard souvenirs from the Ise-Shima area, such as accessories made with Akoya pearls from Ise-Shima and local sake.

Toba Castle Ruins (TobaCity)

Yoshitaka Kuki built the castle in 1569. Since then, it has become the headquarters of the Kuki Navy.
It has an unusual shape in Japan, with the Otemon Gate protruding toward the sea, and the Otehato Sluice Gate served as the entrance and exit.
Today, Toba Elementary School was built on the site of Ninomaru, and the main enclosure remains the school's grounds.There are traces of it left in the stone walls of the castle tower, so a monument has been erected to the west of the bottom of the stone wall in the main castle tower.

Toba 1st Avenue (TobaCity)

Hiyoriyama (TobaCity)

In the center of the observatory is an octagonal compass, which is rare nationwide.

Aomineyama Shofukuji Temple (TobaCity)

An ancient temple of the Shingon sect with many halls scattered deep in Mt. Aomine. It is known as a place of prayer for maritime security. The principal image of worship is the golden Eleven-faced Kannon Bodhisattva, who appears in the legend of ``Kannon Riding a Whale.'' A grand festival is held on January 18th according to the lunar calendar, and the area is crowded with many people praying for safety at sea. At IseShimaSummit, Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau's visit to Mt. Aomine Shofukuji Temple became a hot topic.

Kamishima (Stage of the Sound of the Sea) (TobaCity)

A fishing island in the Irago Channel. It is also the island that was the setting for Yukio Mishima's novel "Sound of the Sea." There are actual places on the island that appeared in the story, such as the wartime ruins of the Kanka Senjo and the long stone steps of Yashiro Shrine, so you can fully immerse yourself in the world of the novel. The island is full of nature and has a circumference of 4km, perfect for walking.

Kamishima Lighthouse (TobaCity)

A lighthouse that has been watching over the safety of the Irago Channel, which is said to be a dangerous place at sea.
It has been selected as one of Japan's top 50 lighthouses and is the best viewing spot on the island, and a plaque reading ``Lover's Sanctuary'' has been placed on this lighthouse.
