A fishing island in the Irago Channel. It is also the island that was the setting for Yukio Mishima's novel "Sound of the Sea." There are actual places on the island that appeared in the story, such as the wartime ruins of the Kanka Senjo and the long stone steps of Yashiro Shrine, so you can fully immerse yourself in the world of the novel.
From late September to early October, you can observe the migration of the long-tailed butterfly (a type of hawk), and you can also see flying butterflies. The island is full of nature and has a circumference of 4km, perfect for walking.

You can view and edit the sightseeing route (My Plan on My Page) that will take you around the selected spots.
