This park used to be home to the Kanebo cotton yarn factory, which supported the local economy. This park was built on the site of a factory that closed in 1993 through collaboration between citizen groups and the government, based on the desire to create a park where everyone can have fun.
In the middle of the lawn square is the symbolic Zelkova tree, and the fountain that sprays water in three patterns is very popular with children.
The gallery, which is housed in a red brick cotton yarn warehouse built in 1920, is used as a venue for artistic activities by citizens.
There is also a cultural property center, ``Haniwa-kan,'' which permanently displays the ship-shaped clay clay excavated from the Takarazuka Tumulus.
