The "Rakuraku Series" is a fun way to learn about classical performing arts. This time, we'll be looking at "Dai Kagura."
Spin the ball on the umbrella. Juggling swords. A lion dances on your shoulders. The vaudeville entertainment that shows virtuosity combined with laughter is called ``Daikagura.'' This great performance originates from the ``Ise Grand Kagura,'' in which a group of Kagura performers based in Kuwana and Yokkaichi traveled around the country carrying amulets from IseJingu. We will explain the history and outline of ``Daikagura'' and demonstrate the virtuosity of ``Ise Daikagura,'' which is its origin.
