Sakakibara's Kaiishiyama Sakakibaranokaisekizan

This name comes from the excavation of fossils from about 15 to 20 million years ago (Cenozoic era).
It is believed that it was originally the object of worship yagami, and was called Izan (Yuyama) until it was given the name Kaiishiyama.
Most of the fossils unearthed here are of marine seafood, especially bivalves and snails, and about 30 species have been recorded, including shark teeth and sea lilies.
