Taya Castle Ruins Tayajouato

The ruins of a medieval castle were built on the summit of the mountain to the west of Insho-ji Temple in the Oe district, extending approximately 300 meters from north to south. A thick earthwork surrounds the main wall in the center, and there is a dry moat and a moat on the north side. In 1581, the castle's lord, the Taya clan, was killed during Oda Nobunaga's invasion of Iga. In addition, there are the ruins of Kaminoyama Castle and Mikasayama Castle in the surrounding area.

Founding date: Sengoku period (16th century)
