Shigure memorial service in memory of haiku saint Basho
IgaCity is the hometown of the haiku master Basho. This event will be held to honor the literary achievements of MatsuoBasho, a nomadic poet who lived and made travel his home, and to remember his virtues.
On the 11th, a ``Basho Festival Memorial Lecture'' will be held, and on the 12th, a ceremony will be held in front of the Haiseiden, and events commemorating Basho's achievements, such as haiku contests, will be held around Ueno Park and other parts of the city.
