The Shimokugu no Mikashi ritual is also called the amazake ritual, in which rice is collected from each household and amazake is prepared and offered at the house on duty. The lion head is called ``Osaki'' and is a male and female pair with the ``Daijou'' of Tanahashi on the opposite bank, and ``Osaki'' is said to be female. The dance is performed twice, during the day and at night, and on the cold nights of Lunar New Year, you can witness the brave dance performed around a fire.
