Asaaki sabo learning zone

The Asaaki Sabo Learning Zone is located near the headwaters of AsakeValley, which is the deepest part of the Asaaki Campground.
Named after the Asaaki AsakeValley, where Japan's first full-scale erosion control project was conducted after the Meiji era, the Asaaki Sabo Learning Zone is a park that introduces the evolution of the erosion control project in miniature.
Inside the park, a two-thirds replica of the original watermill, which was used in the town until the mid-1960s, is on display. The diameter of the water wheel is 3.6m.
Erosion control work is being carried out in the valley of the Asaaki Campground using modern construction methods that utilize natural stones.
