Tsuitachi-Mochi Tsuitachi Mochi
The ``Sakubi Mairi'' is a day when people visit a shrine to express their gratitude for the past month that has passed safely and to pray for a safe month ahead. `` Tsuitachi-Mochi'' was started to entertain those worshipers with seasonal rice cakes. Early in the morning on the first day of every month, long lines of people line up to buy this Tsuitachi-Mochi, which is sold at Akafukumochi store. February: Daikichi mochi at the beginning of spring, March: Mugwort mochi, April: Sakura mochi, May: Kashiwa mochi, June: Mugite mochi, July: Sasa warabi mochi, August: Hassaku millet mochi, September: Hagi October: Chestnut Mochi, November: Ebisu Mochi, December: Snow Mochi
