Sairenji Sirenge
A famous spot for viewing cherry blossoms and autumn leaves and a hill overlooking Iga-Ueno town.
Founding of Saicho. Emperor Gotsuchimikado and Emperor Gokashiwara were deeply devoted to him. A temple where Shinmori Shonin was transformed.
It houses an extremely large number of Buddhist statues, historical sites, and temple treasures that bear the name of the great temple.
In particular, the ``Todo TakatoraTodo Color on Silk'' is a nationally designated important cultural property.
On the third Sunday of April every year, a memorial service for the 25 Bodhisattvas is held, during which dancers, children, and monks wearing the golden masks and costumes of Bodhisattvas parade around a stage set up in the grounds to the sound of gagaku music, and dance above the clouds. It depicts the descent of the Bodhisattva from the world.
In the spring, it is surrounded by gorgeous cherry blossoms, and in the fall, it is colorful with autumn leaves.
