A huge pine tree stands in a plaza surrounded by houses in SuzukaCity.
The tree is approximately 16 meters tall, and it is said that it is likely that it is not a pure Japanese black pine, but a group of individuals that were planted together.
When there was a major drought in this area in 1732, the side of this pine tree was dug up and a Jizo Bodhisattva was unearthed, and there is a legend that water bubbled up from underneath and watered the fields in the area. I am.
The size of the tree is comparable to other trees designated as natural monuments, and it has a dignified personality and is loved by local people as a famous local tree.
It was designated as a prefectural natural monument on March 7, 1996 (H8).
