  • Yoshino-Kumano National Park

What kind of place is Yoshino-Kumano National Park?

Yoshino-Kumano National Park occupies a large area in southern Mie Prefecture. A mountain range runs from the north to the southwest, with the Kitayama River and Kumano River in the south, and the Kumano Sea in the east. It is an area where you can enjoy a rich variety of nature and scenery.
Osugidani, located in the northern mountainous area, is considered one of Japan's three major canyons and is also registered as a UNESCO Eco Park. In addition, the Kumano Kodo ``Iseji'' within the park is one of the world's most famous ``roads'' and is a World Heritage Site. Among them, the Kumano River in the south is known as the ``river pilgrimage route.'' We recommend ways to enjoy this area that remind you of the travelers who once traveled this path.
Doro-kyoGorge, which has huge rocks, strangely shaped rocks, and cliffs, is also a popular kachiji and activity spot. Furthermore, the Kumano Sea coastline is also not to be missed. In addition to Tategasaki, which has a towering cliff, Shichirimihama Beach, which stretches far and wide, is full of photogenic spots. It is an area where you can not only enjoy the scenery created by nature, but also the history surrounding it.
This place, where deep nature and history are intertwined, has a charm that makes you want to visit again and again.

Workation in the park!

Reason for recommendation

The Kumanonada area is characterized by the sea that stretches out in front of you and the narrow alleys, making it perfect for a walk. When you can't come up with an idea or need a change of pace, just go outside. The spirit of exploration that arises when you see the "unusual" scenery of everyday life may lead to new ideas. Furthermore, there are convenience stores and supermarkets scattered throughout the city, so you can have a convenient lifestyle!

  • Reason for recommendation

A workspace unique to this place

This area is characterized by a large number of business hotels and guesthouses. Business hotels tend to be privately run hotels rather than national chain stores. That's why it's not standardized, giving it a calm, homely atmosphere. If you eat the famous Kishu dried fish, you will be full of energy in the morning! Blend in with the local community and travel as if you were living there. Recommended for long-term stays.

Enjoying before and after work

We recommend enjoying the scenery created by nature such as Onigajo and Shishiiwa! Hana-no-Iwaya, where Izanami no Mikoto is buried and said to be Japan's oldest shrine, is also a must-see spot. This area is home to Shichirimihama Beach and has many walking spots, so you can easily explore it on foot or by bicycle.
If you are interested, we recommend trying fishing at Shichirimihama with the locals! You might meet something unexpectedly big.
