About the hydrangea festival

Event period

In 2023, the Hydrangea Festival will be held from May 26th (Friday) to July 17th (Monday). More detailed information is available on the Kanko Mie event page.

When is the best time to see hydrangeas?

In 2022, the best time to see them will be on June 15th. The blooming speed is fast in 2023, so we may reach the peak of the season earlier than last year.

Since last year, the last entry is at 6:30pm, so if you enter before then, you'll have a chance to take pictures of hydrangeas and the sunset!

The entrance gate is closed after 6:30 pm, so when you leave the park, go to the passage on the Ise Onsen Golf Club side and exit to the parking lot.

The best time to see white hydrangeas is a little late.

About parking lot

There are three parking lots in total, and the third parking lot located around Kazahaya Pond is open only on Saturdays and Sundays.

Kazahaya no Sato's official Twitter has announced a ``no-passage section'' and we ask that you do not use the road that leads to the residential area of TsuCity hekicho.

From June 11th (Saturday) to June 12th (Sunday), 2022, passageways in residential areas were congested, and residents were unable to return home for a while.

Therefore, if there is traffic congestion at the location, please come back later.

【ふがまるちゃん】私のオススメは夕方の時間帯。18時半に行ったらスムーズに入園でき、夕焼けと紫陽花の綺麗なシーンを見られました♫

The above photo was taken at around 18:40 on June 9, 2022, and received a huge response with over 400 likes. At this time, the park was empty so I was able to take photos comfortably. The best time to take photos of the sunset is until after 7pm!

Hydrangea photography techniques

I will tell you some tips on how to take better pictures of the hydrangeas in Kazahaya no Sato.

Blur the hydrangea in the foreground

Instead of just taking a photo of the hydrangea in front of you, you can blur out the hydrangea in the foreground to create a greater sense of depth.

Take a close-up photo of hydrangeas

When photographing a dense collection of hydrangeas, getting closer to the hydrangeas in the foreground will make them more impressive.

An example of not getting close to the hydrangea in the foreground. Even in the same shooting location, the impression changes dramatically.

Children x hydrangeas

When photographing children under elementary school age, a low angle is recommended. Bringing an umbrella will add to the cute atmosphere.

Wet day

Hydrangea doesn't care about the weather. If it's a rainy day, try taking pictures of water droplets on leaves and flower petals.

cloudy day

Cloudy days create a calm and calm atmosphere. When taking pictures of people, holding an umbrella will add to the rainy season atmosphere.

sunny day

Flowers look more three-dimensional on sunny days than on cloudy or rainy days. To make the photo even more impressive, the trick to taking a beautiful photo is to get close to the flower or take a close-up photo of the blue sky.

Fantastic water spray time

There are certain times when water is automatically sprayed, and you may be able to take photos that look like they were taken during a downpour. The shooting location was Koi no WAVE. *Be careful not to get the camera wet.

blur the background

If you want to zoom in and take a photo of a single hydrangea, try blurring the background as much as possible. If you use a lens that can take pictures with an aperture value of F1.8, you can take pictures with bokeh like this photo.

How to know the current flowering status

You can see the current flowering status with photos on Kazahayanosato's official Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook pages.

During the Warring States period, the lord of Tsujo Domain, TakatoraTodo, named the land where he worked on irrigation work, and it was named Kazahaya Pond. It is still one of the prefecture's major water resources for fields. Since 2004, the users and staff of the social welfare organization Seijukai's facility for people with disabilities have been working together to prune, fertilize, weed, improve the soil, and maintain and manage the plum, wisteria, and hydrangea trees. As the first flower garden in Japan to incorporate horticultural welfare, it is working to combine the environment and welfare. It is working on the SDGs of "health and welfare for all" and "affordable and clean energy for all."
