Tone your mind and body with the health tourism "Meiwa Therapy" where you can feel the history of Saio while walking comfortably along the coast!

掲載日:2020.11.30

MeiwaTown is located between IseCity and MatsusakaCity. The history of the princess ``Saio'' who served IseJingu and her residence `` saikuu'' remains, and it is also known as ``Miyako saikuu, the Praying Princess of Saio'', a Japanese heritage site. I participated in the ``Oyodo Kaigan Thalassotherapy Walk'', which is one of the ``Meiwa therapies'' that you can experience while feeling the history of MeiwaTown!

MeiwaTown is a town with a history of saikuu. It is also one of the top towns in the prefecture in terms of healthy life expectancy. ``Meiwa Therapy'' is an original program devised by Meiwa Kanko Shosha, located in such a health-conscious town. We experienced a program where you can spend a healthy time while enjoying the Oyodo Coast in MeiwaTown and the history and culture of Saio!

This time, from among the various programs available, we decided to walk along the Oyodo Coast and experience the "Oyodo Coast Thalassotherapy Walk"!
Thalassotherapy is a marine therapy originated in France that uses the blessings of the sea. The Oyodo Coast is suitable for thalassotherapy, and you can enjoy the ``Oyodo Coast Thalassotherapy Walk,'' which is the first program in Mie Prefecture to receive health tourism certification, to improve your mind and body.

Our guides will be from the Meiwa Therapy Guide Association!
A friendly and reliable therapy guide will teach you in a fun way.

First, let's gather at "Oyodo Kaigan Fureai Campsite"!

As a preventive measure against the coronavirus, upon arrival, you will be asked to disinfect your hands, have your temperature taken, and fill out a checklist regarding your physical condition and activities over the past two weeks.

Next, we will check your blood pressure, pulse, and skin surface temperature.

``Meiwa Therapy'' is characterized by a well-balanced program that incorporates the three elements of health necessary for humans: ``exercise,'' ``nutrition,'' and ``rest.'' First, let's start with "exercise"!

At first, you will walk while holding two poles.
By holding the poles, you can actively move your upper body, which is said to be more effective than regular walking. You can walk with high exercise effect with less burden.

First, warm up and warm up your body.

Leave the campsite and head to the Oyodo coast right in front of you!
I received a lecture on thalassotherapy.

The advantage of walking along the coast is, of course, that the scenery is nice, but walking on a sandy beach naturally puts stress on you, so it's suitable for walking where you work up a good sweat. Additionally, the minerals efficiently absorbed into the body from the sea breeze are said to regulate the autonomic nervous system and lead to a deep state of relaxation.
It feels so good to walk while looking at the sweeping ocean view!
I walked and breathed in plenty of fresh air.

During the walk, we also had time to play nature games and stretch on the sandy beach, so we were able to have fun moving our bodies without getting bored!

At MoonBeachCampfield, the turning point, we took a break and listened to stories about the history of MeiwaTown.

MeiwaTown Oyodo, where we are walking, is the place of "misogi" (purification), the purification of the body before going to IseJingu for the Kaname-sai (tasting of the gods' medicine). After listening to the story, we were able to walk around while feeling the history of misogi.

Return to the beach and walk again.
On the way home, I exercised my brain while walking!
While walking, make specified movements and make sounds...it looks easy, but it's quite difficult!

We also had fun playing a game called ``Kaikaru Karuta'' where you search for shells that look exactly like the one the therapy guide is holding...

Go barefoot and dip your feet in the cold seawater...
Repeated heating and cooling is said to have the effect of promoting blood circulation.

After walking for about 2 hours, I did some warm-down stretching.

Next, it's time for "nutrition". We had a therapy guide talk about nutrition.
This is a lunch box from Cafe Chacha in MeiwaTown. A low-calorie and well-balanced lunch box made with local vegetables.

``Eat your vegetables first, and chew each bite slowly and thoroughly 30 times,'' says the therapy guide. I was taught in an easy-to-understand manner the ways I should be careful about eating and the reasons why, and I wanted to be careful in my daily life.

Lunch while breathing in the fresh air is special!

Finally, there is time for ``rest'', which is one of the three elements of health that humans need.
Set up a hammock in the shade of a tree at the campsite and enjoy some relaxing time.
I fall asleep to the soothing music...

After about an hour of "rest" in the hammock, the program ends!
Finally, I measured my blood pressure and pulse and reflected on my day.

``The program includes content that is easy for people to incorporate into their daily lives.I would be happy if this experience inspired them to make even the slightest change in their daily activities from now on and maintain their health.'' Talking therapy guide.

What I felt after participating this time was that although it is not uncommon to have the opportunity to walk in the mountains or on roads, walking along the coast was very refreshing and felt good.
During the walk, the therapy guide gave advice so that each participant could have fun without overdoing it. Above all, thanks to the cheerful and energetic therapy guide, we were able to enjoy the 2-hour walk! At the end, there was time to rest. , I was glad that I was able to go home refreshed and not tired.

"Meiwa Therapy" is currently being held as a reservation-only event.
You can check it out on the Meiwa Kanko Trading Company website.

If you come to MeiwaTown, we also recommend renting an electric bicycle.
Rentals are available at the Shiseki saikuu Rest Area, located just outside the north exit of Kintetsu Saiku Station, and the Oyodo Fureai Campsite. For example, it would be a good idea to come by train, rent a bicycle, and take a leisurely stroll MeiwaTown!

Since it's electric, it's easy to ride on hills and long distances!

Time: 9:00-17:00 (last return reception)
Prices We always have campaigns and various plans available, so please contact Meiwa Kanko Shosha.
Target: 150cm or taller (elementary school students and younger must be accompanied by a guardian)

How was it? ``Meiwa Therapy'' is a health tourism experience where you can experience history while feeling it. It may be an opportunity for you to change your daily life to be more health-conscious, something you didn't realize you had before.
