Speaking of the big event that will be held in Mie Prefecture in 2017, the 27th National Confectionery Exhibition Mie (nickname: Oise-san Confectionery Expo 2017).
January 11th was 100 days before the opening of the event, so the "Ise-san Confectionery Expo 2017 100 Days Before Opening Event" was held at the Jingu Kaikan in IseCity for the press and others.
As this was a very popular event, many members of the media came to cover the event.

First, we had a talk session with Mie Prefectural Governor Eikei Suzuki and Hiroshima Prefectural Governor Hidehiko Yuzaki as guests.
The National Confectionery Exposition, which has a history of over 100 years, was held in Hiroshima Prefecture four years ago, so Governor Suzuki will be the one to receive the baton from Governor Yuzaki.

Next was a presentation from the executive committee.
The theme of the event is ``Bringing 'hospitality' to the world through sweets.''
Executive Committee Chairman Noriyasu Hamada gave an explanation of the contents of the ``National Sweets Deaikan'', ``Sweet Crafts Museum'', ``National Sweets Dream Market'', and ``Sweet Nigiwai Dream Yokocho''.

After the presentation, there will be a tasting session.
Above all, the most noteworthy item is Akafukumochi 's first new product in 300 years, the white Akafukumochi "Akafukumochi Mochi Iwaibon"!
This is a dish that can only be tasted at the Oise-san Confectionery Expo venue, and is only offered at the confectionery expo.

A tray containing one regular Akafukumochi mochi and one Akafukumochi mochi with white bean paste made from white azuki beans.
I wasn't able to sample it as it was only on display, but it looked very delicious!
Akafukumochi mochi, which can only be tasted for 24 days from April 21st to May 14th during the Oise-san Confectionery Expo, is a must-try!

In addition, at Oise-san Confectionery Expo, `` Akafukumochi Mochi Celebration Bon'' (price: 210 yen) will be sold at ``Okage Chaya Sweets Shop'' in the ``Mie Food Zone.'' (For consumption only, not sold as souvenirs)

At the event 100 days before the opening, products developed using recipes devised by high school students from Mie Prefecture were also introduced.
The first one is "Shellette" by students of Iga Hakuho High School.
The appearance is very cute and is inspired by Mie Prefecture's famous pearls, and it is a refreshing sweet that allows you to enjoy the flavors of tea and citrus fruits at the same time.

The second one was "Aosa Duckwords" by Toba High School students.
The dough is made from seaweed, so you can enjoy the crispy texture on the outside and fluffy texture on the inside.

There will also be a variety of delicious-looking sweets on display, including ``Tsujiguchi Manju'' by chef Hirohiro Tsujiguchi of Aquaignis and ``Hiroshima Lemon Princess'' made with lemons from Hiroshima Prefecture.
