About the rice terrace stamp rally event “~Selected beautiful rice terraces of Mie~”
In order to promote the beautiful rice terraces in Mie Prefecture, a stamp rally event will be held to visit pre-designated rice terraces.
Depending on the number of stamps you collect, you can enter a lottery to win gorgeous prizes such as coupons and Matsusaka beef.

About stamp spot
There are three pre-designated rice terrace spots, one each in KumanoCity, MatsusakaCity, and IgaCity.
MaruyamaSenmaida (KumanoCity)
In the Maruyama district of KumanoCity, there are approximately 1,340 small rice fields stacked on top of each other, so many that it is said that ``If you thought one rice field was missing, it would be hidden under a hat.'' It boasts one of the largest scales in Japan, and its scenery is spectacular, and it is said to be the best terraced rice field in Japan.
Held on the first Saturday of June every year. *This event will not be held during the stamp rally period.
Many events are held throughout the year, including rice farming experiences, but one of the biggest events is an event called ``Mushi Okuri.'' It began in an era when there were no pesticides, and people would receive amulets from temples and parade through the Senmaida rice fields with torches, drums, and bells to drive away pests with fire and sound. It was discontinued for a while, but it was revived after Kumano Kodo was registered as a World Heritage Site. Many people come from all over the country on the day of the "Mushi-okuri" event.
Along with 1,340 lights, the lights of a procession of insects holding torches and lanterns float in the dark night, and the fantastic sight will take your breath away.

Dandan rice field in Fukano (MatsusakaCity)
This terraced rice field is located in the Fukano district of Iinan-cho MatsusakaCity, and has approximately 120 stone terraced rice terraces built on the slope of a mountain, and is said to have been cultivated from the mid-Muromachi period to the early Edo period.
Fukano's Dandan rice fields were selected as one of Japan's 100 best terraced rice fields by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in 1997 due to their beautiful scenery and the fact that they have remained intact from the Muromachi period to the present. It is also the filming location for the Sunday theater drama ``Gekokujō Kyūji'' currently being broadcast.

Approximately 500 beautiful terraced rice fields are spread out in the Nishiyama district located in the northwestern part of IgaCity, and you can see fireflies flying around around June every year.
