Ouma Shrine Annual Festival Giant Jinjareisai
Date: Saturday, January 6, 2024
The ``Yumihiki Shinto ritual'' is held to pray for a year of peace. After purifying himself with water and water, the bowman changes into a white costume. Two archers selected from our group will shoot a total of 12 arrows six times each. The distance to the target is approximately 12m, and the target size is approximately 90cm. It is held in a solemn atmosphere surrounded by giant cedar trees.
The bow-pulling ritual, where people wear traditional costumes and pray for peace, is worth seeing!
