Iga Ichinomiya Lion Kagura

This is a lion dance performed at the regular festival held at Aekuni-JinjaShrine, and is said to be the prototype of the lion kagura performed in various parts of Iga.
Its origins are unknown, but it is said that it was originally dedicated to the gods as a ritual performance during the Edo period, but gradually came to visit the homes of parishioners and toured throughout Iga province as a lion to exorcise evil spirits and ward off evil spirits. I am.
There are pieces in which lions dance slowly to the gentle beat of flute drums, and pieces with strong artistic elements, giving a sense of magical power.
It was designated as an intangible folk cultural property by the prefecture on April 1, 1954 (S29).

Every year, the Mai Hatatsu Festival is held on January 3rd, the Maijo Festival is held on April 17th, and the Onmatsuri Festival is held on December 5th every year.
