A must-have item for visiting shrines and temples! If you're looking for a goshuin book, go to Holly Hock, a store specializing in goshuin books in MatsusakaCity.

掲載日:2023.12.21

During this period, many people from outside the prefecture visit Mie Prefecture to visit Ise. Among them, there is a boom in recent years, and many people are probably collecting Goshuin stamps. This time, we would like to introduce Holly Hock, a shop specializing in goshuin stamps, that we recommend you to stop by if you are collecting goshuin stamps or are thinking about starting!

Completely original domestic production! Goshuin book handmade by craftsmen

The goshuin books from the goshuin book specialty store "Holly Hock" are completely original and produced in Japan. He is particular about the fabrics used for the front and back covers, and sometimes even consults directly with weavers and artists when developing products. In addition, because each piece is handmade by craftsmen using traditional methods that have been used since ancient times, mass production is not possible. You can take your time to choose your favorite Goshuin book in the store, which is lined with highly original Goshuin books that can only be found here.

We also have goshuin books made by Mie Prefecture's traditional crafts, MatsusakaCotton and Ise-Momen, as well as unique ones with characters!

A special goshuin book that you can only find at a specialty store!

The large-capacity Goshuin book was born from a customer's request, ``Is there a Goshuin book with more pages?'' It has 100 pages on one side and 200 pages on both sides, combining about 4 Goshuin books into one book! Its thickness is about 4cm! It has a very strong presence! The ink and stamps are hard to bleed and dry easily, and the pages are double-layered and bellows-folded to prevent bleed-through.

In addition, the ``Oshudaicho'' (Oshudaicho), which are used for the Daishudai received at Nichiren sect temples, have a slim size that takes into account the beauty of the Daimon characters and portability. The votive paper inside is plain, so it can also be used as a vertical stamp book. It's compact, so it's suitable for carrying around. *If you are using it as a goshuin book, please check in advance as if you are receiving a Nichiren sect's "Odaimoku", you may not be able to receive it on the same book as a goshuin from another sect.

What is “Okubidaicho”? What is the difference between “Goshuincho” and “Goshuincho”?

The head title received at Nichiren sect temples is also called ``hige moji'' or ``hige daimoku'' because the letters ``Namu-myoho-renge-kyo'' spring and grow like whiskers. It seems common for the title of ``Namu-myoho-renge-kyo'' to have the ``temple name'' and ``date'' written in ink, as well as the seal of each temple. In the Nichiren sect, there are two types of stamps: ``goshuin'' and ``goshudai.'' A book containing goshuin from other sects and shrines is called ``goshuin,'' while a book containing only Nichiren sects is called ``goshudai.'' If you want to collect ``Oshudai'', it is best to have a ``Oshudaicho'' ready because some temples have them.

There are roughly 7 types of goshuincho! You can use it according to your purpose and preference!

There are roughly 7 types of goshuin books manufactured and sold domestically by Holly Hock. The standard size commonly used at shrines (width 11cm x height 16cm), the slightly larger size (width 12cm x height 18cm) that is often used at temples, and the vertical size that holds the title ( 9cm wide x 18cm tall), spread size of 24cm wide x 18cm wide suitable for double-sided goshuin stamps, extra thick size of 4cm thick with 200 pages on both sides (100 pages on one side), 88 locations nationwide All of them are of the popular bellows type, such as the 88 temples notebook that can be used for pilgrimages, and the 33 temples notebook that can be used when visiting 33 Kannon sacred sites nationwide.

It opens horizontally and has a bellows type so that the head priest or chief priest can write in ink without worrying about the seams between pages, and is made of washi paper that is easy to handle with a brush and does not bleed easily.

First in Japan! The ``Goshuin holder'', a holder dedicated to writing goshuin stamps, is popular!

When you're collecting goshuin stamps, you've probably come across them at least once when the person who wrote them was absent or you forgot your goshuin book. For those who don't know how to store the "Goshuin stamp" written on a piece of paper in advance, or are afraid that pasting it on a stamp book might fail, we recommend the "Goshuin holder"!

I think it's easier to understand if you imagine a photo album. The ``Goshuin holder'' uses a special film that allows it to be reattached over time, and you can also write on the mount with a pencil or felt-tip pen. If you want to store double-page spread-sized goshuin stamps (equivalent to 2 pages of a stamp book) that you can receive on special occasions such as limited editions, the "spread-size goshuin holder" is convenient! I love that there are so many options in terms of size and design!

*It is not possible to increase the number of refills (mounts) for the "Goshuin holder".

If you want to collect fortunes, “Omikujicho” is convenient!

In recent years, people have enjoyed taking Omikuji home, storing them with care, and collecting them as a message from the gods and Buddha. However, you may be worried about how to store the omikuji you brought home. For those of you, we recommend “Omikujicho”! This notebook-shaped holder allows you to store your fortune without using glue or tape, and allows you to write the date, shrine and temple name, fortune-telling results, memories, etc.

There are also transparent covers for fortune books that protect them from water and dirt. When the number of Omikuji you collect increases and the pages open little by little, we recommend using a "transparent cover" or "Omikuji book band (Goshuincho band)".

We also have a wide variety of items related to Goshuincho!

We have introduced a number of goshuin books, but don't miss the fact that they also have a wide variety of related items! The goshuin book bag (goshuin book pouch) to store your precious goshuin book is lined with cooper (water-repellent colored nylon), making it safe even on rainy days or when it gets wet! We also have Goshuincho covers and cases.

The ``Goshuincho Bookmark'' is a convenient item that can be placed on the page of the Goshuincho you want to open, allowing you to hand it over smoothly at the shuin counter. The ``Goshuincho band'' that holds the bellows-shaped Goshuincho so it doesn't open up comes in a wide variety of colors, so you can choose one that matches your Goshuincho.

What I personally thought was interesting was the “Goshuincho Handmade Kit”! It is said that you can make your own Goshuincho by using scraps of small, memorable fabrics, such as your favorite clothes or handkerchiefs you received as a gift.

[Ended] Omikujicho will be presented to 5 people!
