MatsuuraTakeshiro, the godfather of Hokkaido!

Takeshiro's various accomplishments, such as traveling not only in Hokkaido but all over the country, drawing pictures of various places, and disseminating the information in books, are introduced in an easy-to-understand manner through graphics and videos, and the book has been designated as an important cultural property. With 1,505 materials on display, you can feel the charm of Takeshiro.
In addition, the birthplace of MatsuuraTakeshiro is open to the public along the Ise Kaido Road, about a 5-minute walk from the museum, so you can experience the environment in which Takeshiro aspired to travel and the life of the Matsuura family that gave birth to Takeshiro.
