Izawanomiya Izawa no Miya
It is said that a long time ago, when Yamatohime no Mikoto was touring the province of Shima, she ordered Izawa Tomomikoto to build this shrine.
It has long been hailed as the "No. 1 shrine in Shima," and boasts a particularly high level of formality Betsugu Naiku of IseJingu. Izawanomiya Otaue Festival is one of Japan's three major rice planting festivals, held on June 24th every year. It has also been designated as an important intangible folk cultural property.
