Located about 300m northwest of JR Kameyama Station, this ginkgo tree is said to be over 600 years old and is one of the largest ginkgo trees in the prefecture.
It is a female tree with a height of about 37 m, a diameter of about 2 m, and branching of about 14 m from east to west, and about 17 m from north to south, and it produces many ginkgo trees in autumn.
It is comparable in size to the large ginkgo tree at Chosenji Temple in Iwate Prefecture, which is thought to be the largest in Japan, and the large ginkgo tree at Hida Kokubunji Temple in Gifu Prefecture.
It was designated as a prefectural natural monument on July 12, 1937 (S12).
