A waterfall where a white dragon is said to have once lived
Oshibuchi Shirataki is a waterfall that is popularly known as Shirataki Gongen. There has been a legend of Hakuryu here since ancient times, and there is also a small shrine called Hakuryu Shrine next to the basin of the waterfall. Also, the contrast between the moss-covered rocks and the clear stream is beautiful. This Oshibuchi Shirataki area is famous for its ferns and has been designated as a national natural monument, and 11 types of ferns, such as Atsuita and Kikushinobu, which are rarely seen in warm areas south of the Kii Peninsula, have been confirmed. Detailed information
Approximately 60 minutes by Sanko bus from Ujiyamada Station. Get off at Oshibuchibashi and walk for 15 minutes.
From Ise Expressway (Tamaki I.C.), take Prefectural Route 169 (Sunny Road) and head west on National Route 260. It takes about 50 minutes.
