In the late Edo period, when Chochi was washing a yokan pot, he poured water into the pot and mixed it with the remaining yokan, and the yokan soaked up the water, creating something like the current Chochi yokan. It is said that it came to be called ``Chochi yokan'' because Chochi liked to eat it.
