"B&W Cafe" in daimon TsuCity is a live house created by Yuki Kitamura, who develops equipment to prevent new coronavirus infections. We have taken thorough measures against infectious diseases, sterilized the space, and ventilated the space, and are fully equipped with stage equipment and online distribution equipment necessary for live performances. We will introduce the latest infectious disease prevention measures taken by live music venues in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

What is B&W Cafe?

B&W Cafe is a live house in daimon TsuCity that opened at the end of March 2020.

This facility was designed and built by Hiroki Kitamura, a developer of equipment to prevent the novel coronavirus, and measures against infectious diseases are being implemented from the perspective of a specialist in novel coronavirus countermeasures.

This time, I heard that this store was selected as an excellent store in the "Mie Anshin Mie Ria" certification system, so I went to actually interview it!

Yuki Kitamura’s career and achievements

Yuki Kitamura used to work at a major electronics manufacturer in research on measures against airborne particles. Utilizing our knowledge to date, we have developed coronavirus countermeasure devices such as Coronax*, which have been reported on numerous TV programs and newspapers.

Currently working as a supporter for Kitamura Onkyo. At a time when artists' live performances are at a standstill due to the coronavirus pandemic, the live house ``B&W Cafe'' was created with the concept of ``What would happen if a person who works at a sound shop and makes equipment to prevent coronavirus infections built a live house?''

* Coronax: Isolation shelter to prevent household infection of the new coronavirus. The origin of the product name is ``Coronax'', which is a play on the words ``eliminate coronavirus''.

A cutting-edge live house responding to the coronavirus pandemic

In order to dispel the anxiety of those who want to perform and see live performances, we have thoroughly pursued the ideal live house that is needed now and have given it shape. We will explain in detail B&W Cafe's measures against infectious diseases.

Space sterilization of floors where people gather

Inactivate airborne viruses with Coronac Stand

"Coronac stands", which inherit the concept of Coronax, are installed on the live floor and food and beverage floor. This device uses the power of ultraviolet light to inactivate airborne viruses, achieving an airborne sterilization rate of 83%.

By placing this device in eating and drinking areas where people gather, it creates an environment where the space is constantly sterilized and prevents the spread of the new coronavirus through the air.

Improving the accuracy of space sterilization with an ozone generator

In addition, an ozone generator is installed upwind of the ventilation, increasing the accuracy of space sterilization by distributing ozone to all floors. To ensure that the ozone concentration is not harmful to the human body, we place an ozone concentration meter where customers can check it.

Air circulation based on scientific evidence

By dividing the area into three areas (drinking, live performance, and artist waiting room), the space is designed so that air does not stagnate in one place. Additionally, to prevent crowding, a maximum of 10 people will be allowed in controlled areas. The location of the controlled area can be confirmed by the "Indication regarding ventilation direction" sign posted at the entrance/exit.

Ventilation equipment installed on each floor

Each floor is equipped with ventilation equipment, the dining floor is upwind, the artist's waiting room is downwind, and the entrances and exits are always open to ensure air circulation that allows fresh air to reach all floors.

When you stand on the live floor, there is a slight breeze, so you can feel the flow of air.

Thorough infection control measures for customers, artists, and employees

① Infectious disease countermeasures for customers

Contactless disinfection devices and temperature measurement devices are installed at entrances and exits to ensure thorough infection control measures for visitors.

In case you forget your mask or the mask strap is torn, masks are placed on the table at the entrance.

② Infectious disease prevention measures for artists

The artist's microphone is placed in an ultraviolet sterilization device, and can be sterilized by placing it in there for 3 minutes.

Infectious disease prevention measures for employees

We have given thorough guidance to our employees on infectious disease prevention measures, and signs have been posted throughout the store stating ``Thorough precautions for employees, including part-time workers.''

Visualize your peace of mind! Visually check infectious disease countermeasures

Measuring carbon dioxide concentration

The live floor is equipped with a device that allows you to see the carbon dioxide concentration, allowing you to constantly check the accuracy of air circulation.

Measures against infectious diseases in food and drinks

Employees must wear masks and gloves when serving food and drinks. When serving drinks, the cup is covered with plastic wrap and a tag with the owner's name is attached. This will prevent you from accidentally drinking someone else's drink, and the wrap will also prevent splashes.

Place markers on the floor and tables to maintain social distance

To maintain social distancing, stickers and tape have been placed on the floors of each floor. By using colors and shapes that make this stand out, you can remind visitors to practice social distancing.

To prevent people sitting close together, acrylic boards have been installed on tables and posters have been placed to space out seats.

A gorgeous live performance that can only be realized with engineers.

The stage usage fee includes the engineer's equipment operation fee, and they will support everything from operating lighting and sound equipment to online distribution.

We also have smoke equipment to enhance the live performance.

The camera can zoom out in two locations, allowing live video to be distributed over the network from various angles.

All of the audio equipment on the stage can be used freely, and we have all the equipment necessary for live performances.
