Fun-filled winter Mt.Gozaisho ~ KomonoTown Part 1 ~ ☆

掲載日:2013.02.05

I covered Mt.Gozaisho in winter. It's full of fun, including skiing, sledding, the famous icefall, snowshoeing, and hiking in the mountains ☆ (February 2013)

Mt.Gozaisho Gozaisho can enjoy the beauty of each season, including the most enjoyable winter where you can play in the snow, spring with beautiful flowers, cool summer where you can see red dragonflies, and autumn with beautiful autumn leaves. It is located in Komono Town, in the northern part of Mie Prefecture, near Nabana Nabananosato and SuzukaCircuit. At the foot of the mountain are the famous hot springs ``Yunoyama Onsen'' and `` Aquaignis'' which opened last year, and a ropeway connects them to the top of the mountain.

If you exit the Yokkaichi IC on the Higashi-Meihan Expressway and drive along National Route 477 towards Yunoyama, you will see the snow-covered mountains of Suzuka, including Mt.Gozaisho. It was a beautiful day as the weather was nice.

First, go to Michi-no-eki Komono Furusatokan. You can get the latest tourist information and insider information, so please stop by. I was moved by the tea that was served to me.

You can also find many souvenirs here, including ``Makomo'' products, which gave KomonoTown its name, and delicious local sake. Furthermore, on weekends and holidays, you can enjoy Makomo meals at the neighboring Makomo no Sato♪

Pass through Yunoyama Onsen town and head to the ropeway station. As I was waiting for GozaishoRopeway staff to guide me, I came across a group of four men and women who were about to climb the mountain. He is a colleague at a company in Tsu, and is fully equipped. looks fun!

Mt.Gozaisho is relatively easy to climb, and many mountain girls and families can be seen there from spring to fall. Winter mountaineering is special, but please be sure to have the proper equipment, pay attention to the weather, and have fun climbing.

I boarded a cute red gondola and took the ropeway to the top of the 1212m mountain. We enjoyed a comfortable 12-minute walk in the air while looking at "Takami Rock", which got its name from its resemblance to the shape of a hawk looking back, and the beautiful view that changes every moment with altitude.

When you arrive at the top of the mountain, first go to the observation deck. As the name suggests, you can enjoy a spectacular view. Surrounding Ise Bay, you can see Ise-Shima on the right, Chita Peninsula in the back, and Nagoya and Gifu on the left.

A short walk from the observation deck will take you to the Fujimiiwa Observation Deck, where you can see Mt. Fuji. On this day, we couldn't see Mt. Fuji because it was a little hazy in the distance, but the view was still amazing. We enjoyed the best view of the Southern Alps, Mt. Ena, and the Central Alps, all poking out from above the clouds.

Climbers were enjoying the scenery at the observation deck. He looks cool with crampons on his shoes and an ice ax.

We also saw ice climbing enthusiasts on the slopes where the sun doesn't shine.

Also, although I couldn't see it because of the weather that day, it is said that in the early morning when conditions such as humidity, temperature, and wind are all right, ``frozen trees'' appear on the branches of the trees, which is a special sight. Furthermore, depending on the location, you can even see tunnels of frost covered trees!

Then, take the sightseeing lift to the "first class triangulation point". The ski slope to the right of the lift is full of middle school skiers. I slipped smoothly, learned from the instructor, and fell down screaming. The voices sounded like they were really having fun. When I asked about it, I found out that some of the students were junior high school students from YokkaichiCity who had come to the 2-night 3-day nature class, and it was their first time skiing.

At the end of the lift is the ``first-class trig point,'' and beyond that is the ``Bokodai'' platform from which you can see Lake Biwa, as well as Mt. Ibuki and Mt. Hakusan. This is also a spectacular view!

Then, we took the sightseeing lift again and headed to the "Chibikko Sledding Slope" in front of Restaurant Azalea. On this day, a small child was enjoying sledding with his father. Your child's eyes will shine, their smiles will shine, and it looks like they're having a lot of fun☆ It's designed exclusively for sledding, so you can let your child play with peace of mind.

Then there's the famous giant icefall. It may be hard to see from the photo, but the ice sculpture is about 10m high and 20m wide, so it's really big and impressive! These are ice crystals that the staff made by sprinkling water on a cold night. At night, it's lit up, so it's sure to be magical!

After visiting all the places, it was lunch time, so I went to Restaurant Azalea. The staff member who worked here for 5 years when he first joined the company said that his favorite is "Gozaisho Curry Udon" (900 yen, set price 1200 yen).

The noodles are made with Ise Ise-Udon, a specialty of Mie, and the special thick curry is topped with large, tender braised pork from Komono, making it quite delicious. It's definitely getting better. In addition, the Hoba miso grilled set meal (1000 yen) is also recommended!

On the way back, at the summit station, I got a stamp from that day put on a postcard of Jizo Rock, which is made up of two large rocks that look dangerous but will never fall. It is said to be very popular among test takers and their families as it is an auspicious card that says the weather is clear, the wind speed is 5 m, the visibility is good, and the driving conditions are good.

And now it's time for a downward walk in the air. We arrived at the station at the foot of the mountain, enjoying a different view from the way up. I browsed the souvenir corner where a ropeway was suspended and purchased a ropeway-shaped chocolate crunch (650 yen).
