How to enjoy a walk by the sea in early summer! I walked around Shima (KoushirahamaBeach /Daio) with my friends!

Hello, I'm Yuto Nakase, a photographer.

Summer means the sea! Speaking of the sea, the sea in Shima City ShimaCity Prefecture is very beautiful.
The coast and port towns of Shima also have a lot of charm!
But how can we enjoy the coast and port towns? So this time, I actually went out to take photos with my friends, so I'd like to introduce you to the whole story and the shooting techniques.

It's like Uyuni Salt Flat! ? Kōfu Shirahama

The first place we will introduce is KoushirahamaBeach!

Although it is known as a surfing spot, it is also a perfect place for a walk along the coast.

If you want to experience the sea of Shima up close, you can definitely go to KoushirahamaBeach.

In this photo, people are reflected, making it look like the Salar de Uyuni.

In reality, there are almost no reflections like those at the Salar de Uyuni, but by using the method I will introduce below, you can recreate the reflections that look like the Salar de Uyuni.

What is that method…

  1. Go to the wet and shiny sandy beach
  2. Bring the camera to the height of the sandy beach
  3. Focus on people or the sky
  4. Set the F value (aperture) to open (the smallest number)
  5. release the shutter
You can do it using the above method.

Actually, you can do the same thing with puddles after it rains, so please give it a try.

This is what a wet and shiny sandy beach looks like.
The beach is smooth as you walk, so it's easy to understand.
However, if the beach is wet, it means that the waves can sometimes reach here, so be careful not to get wet or fall.

Wouldn't it be nice to have soap bubbles? So I tried using soap bubbles.
Hyakuyen soap bubbles are OK.

The trick to taking pictures is to stand on the lee of the soap bubbles and take pictures while being showered with soap bubbles (lol)
By doing so, you can take a close-up photo of the soap bubbles that fly nearby.
The result will be a gorgeous yet powerful photo.

The more you bathe, the better the photos will look of the soap bubbles.
Don't get too carried away and let the bubbles hit your eyes or lenses.

Photographs allow you to preserve even casual scenes as memories.

A photo that makes you realize that you had fun when you look back on it later is definitely a good photo.

So be sure to take lots of casual photos!

The technique for taking this photo is to not tilt it.
For example, just having a horizontal horizon line can make a photo look sharp.
On the other hand, if the horizon line is tilted, it will look unstable, so try to keep it as horizontal as possible when taking photos.

When I finally turned around, there were overcast clouds, but it felt like a scene from a movie, and had a different quality from the refreshing KoushirahamaBeach.

It's so beautiful that it's nicknamed the "picture town." Great king

Daio has a town and lighthouse on top of a hill.
It is characterized by a landscape that is just like a picture.

This photo is of the sunrise that I secretly went there on another day.
Although the scenery is typical of Japan, it has a somewhat exotic atmosphere that makes it appealing.

As you walk through the town, there are elevation differences like this.
It's like a scene from an anime.
On a sunny day, the blue sky and sea look very beautiful.

The trick when cutting out a space is to use a thirds composition.
It literally splits the screen into three parts.

You can see the ocean when you go down the stairs, it's amazing!

Well, it was a cloudy day when I went with my friend.
Usually, cloudy days don't look as good in photos as sunny days...

By processing the photo horizontally, like in a movie, you can instantly make it stand out.

To crop the photo to look like a movie, set the horizontal and vertical ratio (referred to as aspect ratio) of the photo to 2.35:1.
After cropping the photo, add a black frame so that the aspect ratio is 16:9.
This is all you need to create a movie-style photo.

If you have Photoshop or an app that can cut out or add black borders, please give it a try.

The cat I met during my walk was also film-style.
Being able to meet cats is a unique charm of a port town.

Normally, it is a good idea to take pictures without the sky on cloudy days, but photos that include the sky can also be made to look stylish by being processed to look like a movie.

summary

This time we took a walk around the coast and port town of Shima.
Shima has beautiful beaches and townscapes, so just taking a walk will make you feel happy.

Well, when you think of Ise-Shima, you think of pearls, and Daio also has a pearl accessory store, so please enjoy it by taking a walk.
The price is surprisingly reasonable, so if you are interested, please check it out.

and…

For those who want to enjoy photography in Shima, we recommend a sunny day.
