Ise-Shima National Park boasts beautiful scenery and a place where you can feel the deep relationship between people and nature. At Shinhachiya, an inn located within the park, you can fully enjoy the unique pleasures of Ise-Shima, such as a hot spring with a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean and dishes that make use of freshly caught seafood. Another attractive feature is that we have a variety of plans to suit the needs of our guests!
There is a reason why I wrote “ryokan” above. That's because this inn continues to firmly maintain the goodness of traditional Japanese inns. Let's go find out.

Facing the Pacific Ocean, ijikacho TobaCity still has a fishing village culture that has continued since ancient times. In this town where the landscape gives off a somewhat nostalgic feel, the building of the ryokan "Shinhachiya" stands out.

A lobby full of openness welcomes guests. The interior design gives you the feeling of being an inn. Of course, you can see the ocean from all the windows. Despite the wind and rain the day before, the window glass was very clean! You can see how well it has been taken care of on a regular basis.

All of the rooms at Shinhachiya have an ocean view. You can enjoy beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean from the wide windows.
yeah? Something different from a normal ocean view...?

Ahh! The window opening is located low! Normally the window opens from waist height of an adult, but here it opens from knee height! As a result, the area of the sea below you that can be seen is large! This slight difference elevates the grandeur of the view from your room. The person who designed it is amazing!

The standard guest rooms on the 3rd floor and above are 10 tatami mats in size and can comfortably accommodate 5 people.
If you look closely, you'll see a shoji window in the space where the TV was installed! Since you're on a trip, why not turn off the TV and get away from everyday life? Is that your suggestion? It's a subtle way to liven up conversations between families and couples.

Kasai-an, which has an open-air bath, is Shinhachiya's only popular guest room on the first floor. The room is 12 tatami mats + 6 tatami mats, and the interior decorated in red and gold is truly gorgeous! There is also a massage chair, so you can spend a luxurious time.

When you add a beautiful sea view to your private bath, the level of healing is at its best! The sea breeze is so pleasant that you'll want to come back again and again!

``Fugetsu-tei'', a corner room on the second floor, is also a recommended room. The view of the endless ocean and blue sky is breathtaking!
Look carefully, the window opening is from the floor. What's more, the center part of the window is made of single glass. Almost two tatami mats. There is nothing to obstruct your view.

Here is a picture I took on a different day, approaching the window.
It seems difficult to convey the size of a single piece of glass when looking through a camera lens. You can't really feel this excitement until you actually come and see it!

The ``wicker ceiling'' made of bamboo woven into a flat shape is also wonderful! A modern Japanese space is created with a variety of considerations.
The time-honored furniture never gets old, and seems to retain depth and warmth.

``Fugetsu-tei'' is the only room in Shinhachiya where you can see the morning sun. ``The location has nothing to obstruct your view, so you can take a close look at the sun rising over the horizon. When I first saw it, I was so moved by the beauty that I was speechless,'' said front desk staff Kokubo. Aki spoke.

The hot spring water is drawn from Hakusan Onsen, which is said to be one of the most famous hot springs in Mie Prefecture. The ``simple alkaline spring'' has a smooth texture that will keep your body warm even after taking a bath. First, relax in the large public bath.

Next, head to the open-air bath outside the large public bath. While enjoying the ocean view, forget about time and relax to your heart's content!

In the changing room of the public bath, I came across something rare these days. A well-used rattan dressing basket! I think these old-fashioned things are fresh and important in this day and age.

The two types of private open-air baths are also popular! It's in a separate building from the public bath, so I was guided around.
The passage leading to the open-air bath is also very atmospheric. The passageways are paved with stone pavement and tsukubai are placed, creating an even more appealing Japanese atmosphere. You can also enjoy the journey to the bath.

Once you arrive at the open-air bath, all you have to do is relax in the hot water. The scenery of the deep blue sea, green trees, and sunlight is simply mesmerizing.

*The hot water in the private open-air bath is not hot spring water.

The inn is located in Ishikagami-cho, known as ijikacho of Ama divers, so the ingredients used in the dishes are fresh! You can enjoy dishes that bring out the natural flavor of the ingredients.

And all meals are served in your room! The secret behind Shinhachiya's popularity is that it does not strive for efficiency and sticks to tradition. ``I'm even more pleased because we live in this era of coronavirus,'' said Kokubo.
When inbound guests return, we are sure that they will appreciate this pure Japanese service.

When I see seasonal dishes on the table, I get excited! The rustic style of ikezukuri is fun to arrange! The meat is plump and full of flavor.

We also have a wide selection of seasonal special dishes!
Among Shinhachiya's original menu items, the abalone steak is especially popular. The texture is completely different from that of sashimi. The abalone served with the original abalone liver sauce is exquisite.

``Ise lobster Onikayaki'' is a dish of authentic lobster grilled with a secret sauce. Take a hearty bite and enjoy!

On the second day, we had a hearty breakfast.

Recharge your mind and body with our healthy menu!

``This ryokan is located on a hill in ijikacho, so you can enjoy the changing seasons and the horizon from everywhere in the hotel. Please relax and stretch your wings in the midst of magnificent nature,'' says Kokubo. Mr. Miss.
A location full of nature, a hot spring with a spectacular view, and exquisite food... All the must-see points when traveling to Ise-Shima are high quality. This inn has the dignity of a good old ryokan and is suitable for a rest for adults!
